Dominick’s shopping and clearance finds
Posted at 12:55 pm by rachel in dominicks, shopping trips, ultraSo I stopped by the Glen Ellyn Dominick’s this morning. I was going to take some pictures of shelf tags for you for the buy four save $4.00 instantly sale and for the frozen foods Catalina, but… not only were there hardly any shelf tags up, there was hardly anything on the shelf. They’re in the process of resetting the whole store and moving everything around — half of the items from the shelves were in carts, and the aisles were full of people pulling down and moving items.
Clearance
There were also a couple of 75% off clearance tables in the back, and it looked like they were in the process of adding more items as they were rearranging the shelves. So if you’re nearby it might be worthwhile to stop by later this afternoon and see what else they’ve added to clearance. Here are a few things I spotted this morning, in addition to the clearance artichokes I picked up. (Jars of “hot” were $.57, and the can was $1.00.)
Alba botanica lip balm, $.90.
Burt’s Bees medicated lip balm, $.72.
L’Oreal Excellence, $2.25. Use $2.00/1 in the 1/27 RP or $5.00/2 in the 2/17 RP or $2.00/1 in the 1/6 RP.
Various Cover Girl makeup ranging from $1.33-$2.75. Use $2.00/1 lip in the 2/17 RP, $3.00/2 or $1.00/1 in the 1/27 PG (expires today).
Bonus Ultra clearance
While we’re talking clearance — I also ran into the Lombard Ultra on the way home (hey, I was driving right past!) for a couple of the $.88 eggs. In their clearance cart:
Earth’s Best Organic Sesame Street crackers, $.99.
Gerber Organic baby food pouches, $.55. Print $.99/6 here.
So what did I buy?
Eight Seattle’s Best coffee, $39.92. Used a $2.00/1 Catalina coupon, a $2.00/1 coupon from a mailed sample, a $3.00/2 Catalina coupon, two $1.50/1 from the 2/24 SS, and two $1.50/1 printables.
Four Betty Crocker/Ocean Spray/etc. fruit flavored snacks, $3.96. Used two $1.00/2 from the 2/24 SS.
Two clearance artichokes jars, $1.14.
One clearance artichokes can, $1.00.
Paid with a $5.00 Catalina and $27.09. Will get $3.00 back for the coffee from Endorse. Net cost: $29.09.

I went to that store last week to buy those campbell’s sauce packet things and they couldn’t ring up any of my printed coupons. each one wouldn’t work and they said that they couldn’t take them. seriously, they tried two registers and every time they’d scan one, it would shut the whole register down. nightmare.
i was so angry i wasted my JFU pricing!
That’s bizarre! Whenever I have a coupon not scan there, they refuse to take it at the register and make me pay and go over to customer service to post-redeem it off the receipt — so you should have been able to do that at least.
My bright idea: Last week Dom’s refused to take a $2 coupon on a 1.79 item. I went to their handy dandy computer on site, pulled up and printed off their coupon policy where it details how they should modify the price. Problem solved!
It’s always good to use THEIR paper and ink
Check your store also for Clearance L’oreal Everpure products (thanks to boojiw on couponerswanted for the tip!) These are sulfate free. I was able to find the Cleansing Conditioner and other Everpure shampoos for $3.49 minus the $2 manufacturer coupon in the 1/13 RP and 2/3 RP, making these only $1.49, an excellent price.
I also found John Frieda Luxurious Volume shampoo (NOT sulfate free though) on clearance for $2.99, bought two of them and used the $3/2 coupon from the 2/10 SS, so also making these $1.49.
I like the Cleansing conditioner, because I just HAVE to wash my hair daily or I feel gross—I know, I know, my hairdresser constantly reprimands me. This product is very gentle on your hair.
Boojiw reportedly found Everpure products for only $1.75 at the Batavia Dominicks, and got the overage from the $2 coupon.
Are the fruit snacks .99 wyb4 or is that a jfu price that you received? I didn’t see it in the ad. Thanks
Nevermind… sorry. I scrolled down to a previous post on Dominicks Buy 4 Save $4 deals. Thanks for all your wonderful posts!
So for the endorse app you only get the cash back for one coffee even though you bought 8?
The offer is for 100% cash back on coffee but has a maximum reward of $3.00. So I got back the full $3.00 — it could be $3.00 on bagged coffee, or one fancy drink or two regular coffees at Starbucks, or whatever, but only up to $3.00. A lot of them have maximum amounts, esp. the 100% or 50% back offers.
