Well look at that — now Dominick’s has gas rewards too. They have had a program for years at a few stores with gas stations, but now it looks like they are broadening it out in a partnership with Mobil, maybe? See below for my confusion, lol. This is advertised on the wraparound of tomorrow’s 1/31 Dominick’s ad, and you can read more about the program on the Dominick’s site here.
- The paper ad says “use up to $.20 per gallon in rewards at participating Mobil locations.” The site says, “Maximum reward is $1.00 per gallon.” Um.
- I tried looking up participating gas stations in my area, and it says there are none. I then tried looking up a bunch of other ZIP codes with no success.
So you earn points — every $1.00 spent on groceries or pharmacy items = 1 point. Every $1.00 spent on qualifying gift cards = 2 points (excludes American Express, PayPower, Mastercard, My Choice, Dominick’s, Visa, Only 1 Visa, NetSpend and RE-loadit Cards).
Even more baffling, it says you redeem points for a fill-up at a “Dominick’s gas station.” So does that mean not all Mobils are participating and it is the same as the old program with Dominick’s-only stations, or does it mean they haven’t updated the page… given that the fine print at the bottom still says August 2012?
It says you can track points on your receipt or in your account at Dominicks.com, so I guess we’ll have to see how this one plays out! If anyone has more information that is less… conflicting, let us know, and I’ll update as we get more details.

The Mobil in Mcenry(next to the old walmart) takes the dom’s gas rewards. I heard you can redeem up to 20 cents off a gallon. HTH
I stopped at the Mobil on Euclid in Arlington Heights yesterday and a sign was posted on the pump to swipe your Dominick’s card, which I did. I got 20 cents off per gallon. I never saw anything on my receipt regarding this. The sign also said you can enter your phone number to redeem your fuel rewards.
I noticed the 3 Mobil gas stations by my home had signs up this week saying they participate. It’s a bummer because they only let you have up to $.20 off a fill up and I have $1.10 off that expire at the end of the month. At the Dominick’s gas stations there isn’t a limit but $.20 off is what they negotiated with Mobil (I spent a good 15 minutes talking to them on the phone about the program Monday). They don’t show up for me either on the website but all the gas stations have big visible signs up. Glad this is new and I’m not crazy for missing out like I thought I was all these months!
The Mobil in Johnsburg is participating. I believe she said it was limit $.20/gallon.
The Mobil on the corner of Roselle Road and Bode in Schaumburg is participating.
I was at the Mobile on Lake Cook yesterday. At the pump it asked me if I had a Dominicks card. I entered my phone # and low and behold I had $.20 off. Yipee! Especially since I was going to buy gas anyway unaware of any promotions. As I was leaving I did notice then flags flying in the wind mentioning Dominicks.
Going to Dominicks website it appears you get double points for most gift card purchases. So example: buy a Target gift card, get discounted gas, and then shop at Target.
I went to a Mobil, Saturday, on Elmhurst Rd. in Des Plaines that is not connected to a Dominicks and there were signs up about this. When I scanned my credit card it asked me for my Dominicks card. I got .10 off each gallon.
The Dominick’s app tracks your points for you and indicates you can get up to 20 cents off per gallon at Mobil and up to a $1.00 per gallon at Dominick’s gas stations.
I noticed a flag flying at the mobil in the parking lot of the Villa Park Jewel saying something about .20 off per gallon with Dominicks, so they should be participating, right?!? On the other hand, this is dominicks, so logic doesn’t work.
All I know is I spent $54 on groceries at Dominick’s yesterday, yet I received 71 points (I’m thinking that was my total before all the JFU store Qs).
I just got home from Crystal Lake Dom’s. He told me all Mobils, up to .20 off per gallon. Even told me where the nearest one was. Said current points will expire 2/23, I believe. They were advising all customers.
The Mobil station at Roosevelt and Finley is participating. They have signs up and flyers inside.
Mobil on Roosevelt in Glen Ellyn had big signs up
