Here’s yet another update on the DiGiorno + Edy’s deal at Dominick’s. (In addition to the other rebates and coupons here.)
Edy’s is heinous expensive
Jill Cataldo points out that Edy’s is $5.99 at Dominick’s right now, and the Jewel coupon only goes up to $3.50. Check your Just for U to see if you have a personalized deal on Edy’s to drop it to a reasonable price, otherwise you’ll get charged $2.49 for your free ice cream, if they write in that max $3.50 price.
- UPDATE – just load $3.00 Edy’s on Deal Match (thanks, Outlander, and everyone else who commented).
- Also it looks like Edy’s is 3/$10.00, at least in my ad, so you’re OK either way
Lots of Dominick’s won’t do it
Many of you are commenting that your Dominick’s isn’t allowing the use of the $2.00/2 DiGiorno coupon with the free Edy’s coupon. Hand over the DiGiorno coupons first, because the Edy’s coupon is attaching to the DiGiorno (they are both Nestle products). The Edy’s coupon will beep, since it is asking for price. If you call Dominick’s corporate, they will always tell you that coupon acceptance is up to the store manager — so your experience will vary by store, or even by cashier.
Still a deal all week — well, til the 5th
Jamie points out: “Don’t fret too much if you can’t make it to Dominick’s Thursday. The pizzas are on sale all week for $3.99. So, same deals, a buck more total. Still a good deal. This is on the front page towards the bottom of my ad in Naperville.”
Kay notes that the coupon expires on the 5th, so you do have to hurry.
If you’re buying beer, Jewel is cheaper
Outlander points out: “Hey, I think this will work better for people buying beer with pizza deal at Dom and they have a whole week to do it instead of one day: Go to Jewel instead of Dominick’s. Miller Lite is priced 12.99 in the ad, and Di Giorno is on sale for $5 each. So buy 1 case of beer (they all had peelies yesterday for $5/2 pizzas) for $12.99, Get 1 pizza for 1 cent, Get 1 more pizza for $5, Get 1 ice cream FREE with Q in ad Use $5/2 pizzas when you buy beer and just pay $13 for everything AND NO HASSLE WITH DOMINICK’S and their overpriced ice cream and refusal of coupons! A case of Miller Lite is $12.77 at Dom., so almost the same price!”

Walmart will price match… I did it this morning to avoid a 45 min drive to the nearest Dominicks… The cashier even waved me off when I offered the ad.. Then she asked where I got my coupons from cus she wanted to do the same deal!

I just went to the one on 63rd and 355 and the Edy’s was 3 for $10. They took both coupons, I gave the Digorno one first.
I don’t have it on personalized, but ice cream is on Deal Match from Jewel 2/$6!
Just did the deal for pizza and edy’s and they gave me no problems. The edy’s is on dealmatch for jewel for $3.00 so u can get it free.
It is on deal match as everyone says, but my Dominicks had hang tags showing it was 3/10.00 anyways so my range up at 3.34 and then subtracted the 34 cents for the deal match. So even with out the deal match it would still work.
Just came back from Walmart in Plainfield, they price matched the pizza, no problem and took both coupons! I love that Walmart, they’re very friendly and never give me any problems, unlike my Dominick’s
Does Walmart enforce LIMIT 2 or can you buy more?
I got 8 pizzas and 4 ice creams in one transaction. I had left the ad in the car, and offered to go get it, but they didn’t care, said they didn’t need to see it. I’ve done lots of price matching there (at the Plainfield store) and they barely glance at the ad when I have it. A while ago, I asked someone about price matching the buy 10 save .50 deals at Jewel, and they said you don’t have to buy 10, they’d give you the price anyway. I love doing that when I don’t need 10 ot whatever’s on sale.
Yep, on deal match, and marked 3/$10 in the aisles. Shouldn’t (!) be a problem.
I went to the Bartlett dominicks this morning before the kids were up for school and the deal worked fine there. Cashier was very nice and did not give me any problems.
BOOO DOMINICKS!!!!! Don’t bother trying this deal at the Bartlett Dominicks. They are refusing the coupons saying you have to buy 4 Digiorno in order to use one Digiorno coupon and the free Edy’s coupon. UH, NO!!! And then to to top it off, NONE of my JFU discounts came off. Th cashier says to me “Well you’ll have to go home and bring back a printout.” WHAAAAT????? Fortunately, I happened to have already printed out my list just KNOWING this was going to happen! So, off to customer service to waste another 15 minutes!!!! Now I know why I haven’t been to Dominicks in monthes!!! UGH!
I just came back from there and, of course, no go. I wish I saw your post before I left. I asked her to scan pizza Q first and then ice cream, she said she was told she can’t use those Qs, so no.
POM was all gone, and they wouldn’t give rain checks because supposedly they are getting a shipment in tomorrow.
Sorry to make everyone panic on the $5.99 Edy’s price. I had a reader write that Edy’s was ringing up $5.99 and I hadn’t checked the ad before responding..!
There was a sign on the freezers saying that from 2/1- 2/8 (I think that was the end date) you buy two DiGiornos get a free Edys with in-ad coupon. Unfortunately, we couldn’t actually find that coupon in the ad. This was the Glen Ellyn store.

I was hoping to run into Jill at the store too- just in case they gave me any problems. That store is always giving me problems with my coupons! It’s a wonder anything scans there, the way they smash those coupons into those scanners!

Unwittingly I scored a better deal. I used my moms card to purchase 4 pizzas and 2 icecreams. I did not have the deal match loaded on that so the edys cpn amount was $3.33. When I ran thru my card I had the deal match loaded and so $3 each but she put the cpns in for $3.33. I didn’t notice until I got to the car. So I got $1.32 overage.
Worked great for me (thanks for the heads-up on using the DiGiorno first), EXCEPT when they scanned the Edy’s coupon, I told them the price was $2.50. What’s wrong with me?! it actually was $3.34 (even though it shoud’ve been $3 because I loaded the deal match). So, because of my own math error, I ended up with 80cent ice cream instead of free ice cream LOL! not worth arguing over, even though I noticed before I went home.

I think she’s confusing the rebates. $12.50 one is for Coors Light and Hormel trays.
Nope there’s one out there. I checked on Ebay and people are selling them. So keep your eyes peeled as Illinois is included in the rebate.

No confusion….I found the $12.50 rebate at Walmart in Addison at 53/rohlwing. They have a huge display right when you walk in.
Ok, I’m going to Walmart to use up my coupons – no hassle there and closer to me than any Doms.
I had no problem in Naperville on rt 59 and 95th street. Well, no problems with the pizza and icecream. A HUGE sign said Avocados were 77 cents, they rang up at $1 each. I didn’t want to argue for 46 cents with 2 three year olds, so I left. Happy about the pizza and ice cream though!
So, yeah, I got my pizza for 3.49 and .15 and my ice cream 3.34 and then my Miller lite was only 12.77 case and then they took the 5.00 off. . . oh – should have gotten the 12pk then I would have made money like Katie!
Buy Cheaper Beer! 12 packs of MGD and Miller Light in the cooler at dominicks were 9.99. They also had a coupon on them for $5 off 2, and they were bottles or cans. The 5 of 2 is for 9 packs and up. So buy cheaper beer, and you pay $12 total for 12 bottles of beer, 2 pizzas, and ice cream. Sweet!

I’ve been unable to load any of my deal match items onto my card today – I get a message on the Dominicks website that says they are experiencing technical difficulties. I’ve seen this message before but not for such a long span of time or when I am waiting patiently to go to the store to attempt the pizza & ice cream deal. Ho hum. I’m still waiting and getting hungry

Angela, if you’re waiting to do the ice cream and pizza deal, you don’t have to. The Dominick’s price on the ice cream is 3/$10. So, it’s within the limits of the coupon.
The manager at Gurnee said I couldn’t do the deal. I went outside and called corporate who said I could. Went back in, handed her the phone, listened to her argue with corporate, but got it! Thanks!

Don’t hold out hope that the app will help with anything. I loaded the coupons/promotions on my J4U this morning but forgot to email the list to myself. When I pulled up my iphone app in-store, NOTHING was there. Nothing.

Same thing happened to me! I only paid $4.80 for the 2 pizzas and ice cream.
I was able to get this deal at Dominick’s this morning…although the cashier was a little rude about it and said, “I’ve been having this agruement with customers all morning. I’ll just do what I’ve done all morning and override it.” This evening I price matched the deal at Walmart. The coupons went through without any problems and the cashier was very impressed!
Dominick’s in Elmhurst said they wouldn’t take both coupons. The manager said I was double couponing. I told her forget it and I would just take them to Jewel. She scolded me and said “just this time”. She doesn’t have to worry, I’m done with Doms!
Does the deal match work only once?
It works more than once. But if it says something like “limit 2″ that will mean per transaction.

As a side note, I WAS able to do this deal last night at the Westchester Dominick’s.
Funny thing – on the freezer doors at both Dominicks and at Walmart there are signs/ads saying Free ice cream with the purchase of two DiGiorno pizzas – and at the bottom, it says ‘with in ad coupon’.
I don’t think WalMart has an ad and we know that coupon was not in the Doms ad. And yet with those signs on THEIR freezer doors, Dominicks is denying the coupons that people managed to find! I wonder what Walmart would do if someone brought it up – give them the free ice cream I assume – how different from Doms! I had no problems, no hassle, no rudeness. no phone calls to corporate at Walmart. Price matched the pizza and ice cream – did not even want to see the ad – and then took all my coupons – happily! What a difference from morning visit to Doms. I’m taking all the Doms sales to Walmart from now on….!
Has anyone else found the $12.50 rebate? Crystal Lake Jewel does not have the $12.50 rebate – they have a less awesome one: $10 rebate wyb one 9 pack or larger Miller with in-store purchase of $20 or greater (excluding pizza). Boo.
They are on ebay – so I know they exist – I am still on the hunt to find one for free, lol
