Mr. 6 and I popped over to the Elmhurst Dominick’s today to see if they had the little FiberChoice. Nope, not so much. So instead:
3 Hallmark Expressions Valentine’s cards, $5.97. Used $2.00 JFU store e-coupon and $2.00/3 Facebook printable.
O Organics half & half, $2.49.
2 Alexia potatoes, $4.98 with in-ad coupon. Used two $2.50/1 printables (no longer available).
After an extended discussion of whether they could take the beeping Alexia coupon (yes: They COULD
), I paid with a $4.00 Catalina and $.90. Got back $6.00 in Catalinas: $5.00 for Hallmark and $1.00 for Alexia. Up $1.10 this transaction.
Then we went to Target, because Mr. now-6 had a $25.00 gift card from Nana burning a hole in his little pocket. You can see here part of his purchase… and the less said about the rest of the trip, the better. Suffice it to say: If you think you have classroom Valentines leftover from last year’s clearance purchases, you’d better check to make sure earlier than two days before Valentine’s Day, just in case you’re wrong and then have to go to Target, where you barely escape that aisle with your life. Yikes. Anyway, the Lombard Target had tons of clearance in that back corner near the Valentine’s stuff, most of it those big household items they always put out the month after Christmas. Most was still 15%, though, some at 30%, so hopefully better deals yet to come.

LOL… made me laugh on the “if you think you have valentines…” because this morning me and Mr. 9 pulled out last years clearance Valentines (2 different boxes) one was a put together basketball paper setup and that is the one he wanted to use.
We opened the box which said 32 and and there were less than 20. He has 22 in his class I think we had 18 in the box. He doesn’t remember passing those out last year (I don’t either) and I am pretty sure we bought them after Valentines last year but thankfully they were only 25ยข and I had that second box of lego car sticker puzzles and he had to add 4 of those in the mix! lol…
did your hallmark coupon scan with no beeps?? mine would not scan, the cashier tried punching in the numbers and the register would not take it then she told me it was because i had a JFU coupon
The Hallmark one did scan, oddly enough, but it prints so blurry it probably won’t most places. And it’s not because you had a JFU coupon — if you look at your receipt, the JFU coupon very clearly comes off as a store coupon. Go to customer service and see if they will redeem it for you off your receipt, if you kept the cards.
Mine was clear, but it still wouldn’t scan, and I did go to Cust. Service, but she tried and when it didn’t scan she wouldn’t take it.
Mine would not scan at first either but make certain the cashier is scanning the correct one. There are 2 bar codes. One is just for Hallmark stores and the other is for retail stores. Once she scanned the retail bar code it went through with no beeps.
The cashier was trying forever to scan then punch in codes for the Hallmark coupon. Finally I asked him if he was scanning the “retailer” code. When he did that it scanned fine.
Mr, Now 6, looks adorable:)
