So yeah, we’ve been all over the darn place today. Hit Dollar Tree and ALDI this morning, made GUACAMOLE, ate guacamole, and then the kids started in with wanting to use their Target gift cards… so who am I to deny them a trip to Target? lol — So here’s what I bought at Dollar Tree, what I saw at Dollar Tree, what I bought at ALDI, and a bonus guacamole recipe. ;)

Bought at Dollar Tree

2 Westsoy soy milk, $2.00. Used two $1.00/1 printables.
2 Hefty sandwich bags, $2.00. Used $1.50/2 from the 11/11 RP.
Four 8-ct International Delight coffee creamer singles, $4.00. Used four $1.00/1 from the 12/2 SS.
2 Rubbermaid TakeAlongs, $2.00. Used $1.00/2 from the 11/18 SS.
2 Comet Sprays, $2.00. Used $1.50/2 from the November All You.
Puzzle book for Mr. 10 (not pictured), $1.00.
Animal stickers for Mr. 5 (not pictured), $1.00.

Paid $4.73. (So my stuff pictured above would have come to about $2.57, without the kids’ goodies.)

Stuff I saw

Here are a couple more good deals I saw at the Villa Park Dollar Tree. Items can vary a lot by store! Find anything good at your Dollar Tree lately? Please comment here.

Planters Nut*rition peanut butter, Banana nut only, $1.00. Use the $.75/1 printable to get this for a quarter. (If you don’t leave the coupons in your printer like I did!)

Sugar in the Raw

Sugar in the Raw 25-ct packets, $1.00. Print $.75/1 here (no size restrictions!) to get it for $.25.

So then we went across the street to ALDI

… cause Mr. 5 has been talking about making guacamole, and it seemed like a good idea to me.

4 avocados, $1.96.
Mushrooms, $1.49.
Tortilla chips, $1.19.
Baby carrots, $.49.
Clearance cinnamon roll rookies, $.79.
Cauliflower, $1.29.
Grape tomatoes, $.129.
Blackberries, $.99.

Paid $9.66. So for this trip, $14.39 altogether. ALDI was also starting to clearance out toys, including princess dresses for $9.99.

GUACAMOLE

These were some good $.49 avocados — will have to go back and get more later this week!

So here’s the guacamole deal — I prefer to make it with fresh lime juice, but had no limes so used bottled lemon juice instead.

Ingredients

Four ripe avocados.
Diced tomatoes (to taste).
Diced onion (to taste).
Lemon or lime juice (to taste).
Sea salt (to taste).
Chili powder (to taste).
Minced garlic (to taste).

Directions

Yeah, it’s not an exact science here! Mash up avocados. Stir in all other ingredients. Mash, mash, mash, taste, taste, taste, stop when it seems to taste good to you and have a good guacamole-like consistency.

Have with tortilla chips, baby carrots, add salsa as Mr. 10 has done… and, yum.

I recently bought the Hefty slider bags at both Dollar Tree and Walgreens and I am surprised by the quality difference. The ones sold at Walgreens are definitely much better quality and I actually got a better deal with pts and B1G1.

They should — they recently updated their coupon policy and this is supposed to have been clarified with stores. I’d contact corporate if your store is having problems.

  6. Sandy says:

Can you use more than 2 coupons at Dollar Tree?

    • rachel says:

If they are not printables. They limit to two printable coupons per household per day, but that doesn’t apply to insert and other non-printable coupons.
