Coupon and Stockpile Swap next weekend — Lisle Library!

Reminder — This coming Saturday, come on out and join us at the first Coupon and Stockpile Swap from Mashup Mom and! We’ll be at the Lisle Public Library, IL on Saturday April 19 2014 from 1:00-3:00 PM. Stop in any time — all are welcome, and no registration is required. Bring your unneeded coupons and stockpile items to share, and bring home new coupons and stockpile items from others. Did you end up with extra probiotics, but need low-dose aspirin? Do you have a glut of baby coupons, but need pet food coupons? Bring your extras, and benefit from others’ extras!

Very simple rules

  • Bring something if you’re going to take something.
  • Be considerate, so that everyone gets a chance to leave with something new.
  • If you have a lot of stockpile items, leave them in your car, bring in representative samples, and talk with others about what you have to swap — don’t hurt yourself, lol.
  • No selling. No money can change hands at this event; bring items and coupons with the understanding that you’re giving them away to others.

If you’re looking for something in particular (baby items, gluten free coupons, what have you) feel free to comment here or on the Coupon Trading Facebook group. If you have extras of something in particular, please comment with what you might be bringing to share. Swap at your own risk; neither the library, Mashup Mom, nor can be liable for how stockpile items have been stored, expiration dates, etc.

Any leftover stockpile items at the end of the event will be donated to the Lisle Township Food Pantry, which serves residents of Lisle and unincorporated parts of Lisle, Naperville and Woodridge.

I’d like to come. How would you like unneeded coupons – in the Sunday inserts or torn by categories? I keep the whole inserts because this way I ca easily find a coupon by reference.

Wondering how the event went this past Saturday? I was not able to attend but would like to know the results – success, or not?

It went well! I completely forgot to take pictures — we ended up with a lot of stuff for the food pantry, and everyone was able to clear out some unneeded items and come out with something new. I think we would have had more people if I’d realized it was the day before Easter when we were picking a date — I was just looking at the library calendar of open meeting room dates, oops.
