Popped over to ALDI and Pete’s Market today, and here’s what’s what:
ALDI shopping
So first I went to ALDI, and picked up:
3lb Cuties clementines, $2.99.
3lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, $1.99.
Cantaloupe, $1.49.
Valentine’s Kisses, $2.79.
Edamame bites, on clearance for $.99.
Strawberries, $1.29.
Clancy’s tortilla chips, $1.19.
Two 3-stem roses, $5.98.
Paid $19.56. $10 of that was covered by an ALDI gift certificate to create this Valentine’s themed centerpiece to show you guys (Kisses + Roses), so we’ll call that $9.56 out of my own pocket.
The edamame bites were good, by the way! This figures, because most things I like best at ALDI turn out to be a limited special buy and I have to wait for them to come back, lol. Slightly spicy with some wasabi flavor — I did not, however, care for the included wasabi-ranch dipping sauce, but they were great plain.
This is a horrible picture, but the Villa Park ALDI on Roosevelt also had the frozen Simply Nature steel cut oatmeal on clearance for $.89.
Pete’s Market
Then I popped across the street to Pete’s, where I picked up:
2 Silk soymilk, $5.98. Used two $.75/1 printables.
3 dozen medium Hamilton eggs, $2.97.
1lb mushrooms, $2.68.
3 large lemons, $1.18.
3lb onions, $.99.
organic grape tomatoes, $1.48.
Broccoli, $1.69.
Asparagus, $1.95.
5lbs red delicious apples, $4.98.
Sourdough bread, $3.29.
Pork roast, $5.09.
Paid $31.34. So discounting the $10 for the candy and roses, that’s $40.90 out of pocket.

Tomatoes to small to clean ,and they wouldn’t talk about Montezuma revenge from what you ate their for nothing. Use to be a travel agent and had many sick clients coming home from Mexico.
Clancy’s are very underrated for store brand chips.
We all like the Clancy’s here better than most of the name brands — they are better than Tostitos
The nice thing is that Clancy’s chips are all under $2. The BBQ and the Nacho Cheese flavored ones are very tasty.
ALDI in Merrillville, IN had gallon milk for $1.89!
