ALDI

  • From Linda: “Re: Aldi meat coupon. I used it today on sweet Italian sausage, $3.69 for the package. Paid $.75 out of pocket. The cashier had to check with another cashier sbout how to use it, but it scanned just fine. Yay for cheap meat!!”

Dollar Tree

  • A note from seachicago on the Duncan Hines coupon: “I’ve seen Duncan Hines at Dollar Tree a lot lately, especially their “velvets” specialty mixes.”

Jewel

  • Kitty shares: “8.5 oz Kettle Chips are BOGO $2.99 on Mymixx.  When I purchased 2 of the 13 oz size @$3.68 (they were marked $3.99), $3.49 was deducted for the second one.”
  • Jaci comments on the Ice Mountain deal: “Worked like a charm! If you don’t find any on shelve check the front of your store mine had a ton. Pizza deal was awesome also ton a lot of stock.”
  • And dani combined the Ice Mountain with the DiGiorno deal: “I bought 3 cases and 3 Digiorno pizzas (thin) to get to the Nestle Buy $20, Save $5 sale. Used 3 – .75 coupon and 3- 1.00 coupon. got back $2 cat for digiorno pizza and 2.25 cat for water. so, total 6.55. good deal.”
  • From Michelle b on the Ice Mountain deal: “If you buy 12, $5 comes off instantly on the Nestlé deal ($5 off instant when you spend $20) Use 12 qs and get the 2.25 Catalina. 3.75 for 12 packs of water.”

Meijer

  • Dawn comments on the free Propel deal: “i think they have the sizes wrong. we bought the regular propel water yesterday and they are 710 ml. i didn’t see the fitness water at all at meijer but maybe we missed it. there was a deal on gatorade that if you bought 2 8-packs of gatorade you got 3 750ml bottles of propel for free but we couldn’t find the 750ml bottles……they gave us the 710ml bottles instead for free……weird!”
  • Sabrina doesn’t recommend it: “I bought 11 of the giant bottles of the Propel Electrolyte water to bring to an outside concert at Millenium park. The water tastes terrible and even though it was close to 100 that day, everyone that came with preferred to drink from the nasty water fountains that were providing hot water rather than drink the Propel water. To me it sort of tasted like a flavorless Gatorade, salty with a slimy mouth feel.”

Reader requests

  • Lori asks: “Anybody know of a Highlights Magazine deal? My dd wants this for her bday and I can’t find a deal on it.” I know it’s not much, but here’s a $5 off offer: http://bit.ly/1PVVueH — anyone else?
  • And jane has a question: “Can anyone recommend a book for kids how save and use money wisely. Would like to get for my nephew”

SavingStar

  • From Like2save: “Like feelgood, I discovered that SavingStar is not crediting my account properly. It seems to be happening at all stores, including receipt submission stores, not just Jewel. I contacted customer service on several occasions. By the way, customer service responds within 5-10 BUSINESS days.”
  • Shandelle is also having issues: “I hate the stores in Ibotta the require a card. It almost never works. Over the weekend I wasted so much time in an email going back and forth with one of their reps who was refusing to give me credit and passing off my complaints as “feedback” – um, no, your system is broken and I have proof I bought this item; this isn’t “feedback” !! I never used to have problems with Savings Star crediting my stuff. But lately it’s been a small problem here and there. When Jewel did the free Nature Valley nut bars a couple weeks ago, there was also a coupon for $.75 off a box on Savings Star. It never applied. But maybe it was because it came through as $0 and somehow their system didn’t realize I “bought” it. Their customer service fixed it no questions asked and they almost always do. I’ve had a lot of the produce offers not credit and they just give me credit without even putting up a fight. The problem is their service is soooo slow now. They take upwards to 15 days to get back to you now. Wonder why they don’t just hire more people?!”

Staples

Valli Produce

  • John W shares: “The Evanston store’s prices are similar this week, although it has a $10 off $50 coupon instead of $10 off $75. There is an extra 2-page spread in the Evanston ad with a few deals: Shish Kabobs, $2.99/lb limit 6. Whole catfish $1.99/lb. Focaccia bread, 99 cents. Dutch Farms chicken kievs, 67 cents. Valli is also giving away a back-to-school gift basket at each location, entry here: https://www.facebook.com/valliproduce?app_data=%7B%7D&v=app_190076381016644.”

Coupons

  • A heads up from Alice on the BOGO YoBaby coupon: “Hurry to use them, printing expiration date 08/30. I saw these 3.99 at Target and Garden Fresh and 4.29 or 4.59 can’t remember, at Jewel”
  • Lucky comments on the new Red Plum coupons: “Thanks! Print the Aunt Millie’s coupon and use at Meijer through Wednesday for $.49 bread” Reminder: This one is ZIP specific. Try 60148 here if you don’t see it.

Frontier

  • More on those cheap Frontier flights from Kari O.: “This happens ALL the time with frontier! They bank on the idea that people cannot physically make it from the check-in counter to the planes gate in the limited time allowed. I watched them refuse to allow people to board because it was only 23 minutes before take off and they require you to get there 30 minutes before scheduled take off. Apparently they had already given their seats away because they considered this couple “no shows”.”

Jet.com

  • Elizabeth comments on Facebook: “Just ordered 144 Tide Pods from jet.com for $16.66. Buy two 72 count for $27 and the codes SAVELOTS for $10 off. Check the box for no free return shipping and the use the code CURISMA to extend the trial account to 12 months. Found the deal on SD. Check the discussion there for jet.com hold amounts. May not be for the faint of heart.”

Jewel

  • Looking for the free Smucker’s Fruit-fulls? Melissa comments: “The Jewel in Villa Park had plenty!”
  • And Karen says: “I had to ask at my jewel..they are located in the aisle with the peanut butter :) There were plenty of all flavors at 179th and Wolf in Orland Park.”
  • Teresa found them: “I just got back and my jewel (River Forest) did have them with the other squeezable fruit. They had plenty of them.”
  • Laura comments on those: “I have seen the Smucker’s Fruit-Fulls clearanced recently at the Jewel near me. They must be giving them away for free to get rid of them. They do not taste as good as other fruit pouches. The strawberry variety tastes like strawberry jelly not applesauce and who wants to eat jelly plain”
  • Cleob concurs: “I found the Smucker’s Fruit Fulls on center aisle endcap nearby where the fruitpullups/granola boxes are located, at Rand/AH, priced 3.99 for 4 ct. I did not realize this was a fruit pouch product, but has thick consistency, thicker than applesauce, and weird off-taste with the added ingredients. I agree does not taste that good.”
  • Mary T. suggests: “I have tried them and they are ok. I like to add it to my Plain Greek Yogurt to help my Yogurt taste better :)”
  • Teresa comments: “With the Goose Island or Leinenkugel’s I got there was a $3.00 off Produce/Beer coupon, I got my 2 spinach for free (I would have gotten 3, if I had know about this deal)!!!”

Reader requests

  • Jeff is looking for some advice: “Our children qualify for the state health insurance, including dental. We saw one of the dentists who is part of this program, but we will not go back. The place looked outdated and a bit run down and the hygienist kept cussing in front of our son because the x-rays didn’t work out…. Needless to say, not a good experience and not a place I trust. Our 10-year old needs a couple cavities taken care of, so I was wondering if any of you have state dentists that you like and trust and can recommend (or perhaps a “real” dentist who would take us!!). We live in the Wheaton/Glen Ellyn area, but any recommendations are welcome!! Thanks a lot!”
  • And cea asks: “I wasn’t able to print the Little Remedies coupon because it said I had to have a “physical printer” connected to my computer. I’m assuming that meant that I can’t print because I have a wireless printer now . . . which would be pretty strange because most new printers sold today are wireless. Did anybody else have this problem?” I haven’t been able to print from that site since upgrading to Windows 10, so maybe that’s the issue…

Valli Produce

  • Peaches checked out the new Evanston store: “Hi- I was at the Evanston store yesterday for the grand opening, and they had lots of free samples, including a free Vienna hot dog including a free nun and condiments. All they had in the way of condiments was mustard, hot peppers and relish though. The guy in front of me asked for ketchup, which of course they did not have. They were the busiest that I had seen them since the store opened. They have more free samples until 4:00 this afternoon. I just got the Dutch Farms cheese, a gallon of milk and some green bananas. They did not have any ripe ones.”

ALDI

  • More cheap eggs spotted by regis: “$1.29 at Aldi in Evanston on Oakton”
  • But not at Shirley’s store: “Oh my goodness! $2.29 for a dozen at Aldi.” Unadvertised egg and milk prices at ALDI can vary wildly.

Family Dollar

  • Miriam shares: “Family dollar have purex cristals for $2.5 and we have a coupon for 3off 2 !!”

Jewel

  • From feelgood on this week’s Jewel deals: “For the $1.99 Tradewinds gallon tea, look for $1.00/2 hangtag coupons. Saw them at two Jewels near my house. Also, I’m waiting until Monday to buy these. I got a Catalina announcement from Meijer. Between 8/10/15 and 9/6/15: Buy 2, get $1.00 OYNO. Buy 3, get $2.00 OYNO. Buy 4 or more, get $3.00 OYNO. If this deal works at Jewel and with coupons, net cost would be $0.74 each.”
  • Dapper deals shares: “I was at jewel today and there was a sign by the Palermo’s pizza for a FREE Mountain Dew 2-liter with any one pizza purchase. No coupon required and no limit. it’s valid thru September 8th, so plenty of time to get in on the deal!”

Lands’ End

Meijer

  • From maggie: “I got a first aid bag last year when there was a similar deal for Band Aids and I still had some of the coupons. You might want to check your stash: one of them was for $5 off 3 items and another was $2 off one single Neosporin. I got over 400 band aids today as well as 4 first aid bags (will be a total of about $3 after rebate)… just as we were running very low so this was great timing! Also, the new first aid bags that you can get right now also have $15 worth of coupons in them, so use them on your next trip. By the way, at my Meijer some of the bags had been opened and the coupons were taken out… really sad but you have to check every bag to make sure it comes with the coupons.”

Reader requests

  • Deanna has a question on Facebook: “So – I know this isn’t a deal request or post, per se, but I was wondering if any of the allergy moms out there could lend some help. We just found out our 11 year old has food allergies (obviously not life threatening, but bad enough he’s having severe eczema that causes staph). I saw at Aldi they have GF items (I tried gluten free for migraines at one point, so I’m ok at GF) – does anyone know if they’re clear about other allergens? We have to avoid wheat, soy, corn, and peanuts. I’m kind of freaking out because it seems like soy is in EVERYTHING. Anyway – any budget friendly places you frequent? Thanks!”
  • And a question from Alex: “Does anyone know any places that are selling those kiddy pools with deep discounts? Any advice appreciated. TU”

  • Ella asks: “Has anyone had the fish at Tony’s? Was thinking about getting the tilapia?”
  • Jay is wondering: “I wanted to buy the soda stream for a gift for Christmas and I printed out the (I think it’s $15) $15 IP a couple weeks ago. Does anyone know a good “deal” on that? Thanks!!”

Target

  • If you’re looking at the cheap Sharpies on Amazon, theresa comments: “I think I saw sharpies for this price at Target today too.”

They have a wine bar in the store, and they also have a gelato bar there. They were very busy tonight, and after I left there, I drove down to the Jewel store down the street, which was not nearly as busy.
