Caputo’s

  • Regarding deli ends, Liz says: “Angelo Caputo’s Hanover Park has them – also in the deli area in back corner”

Household tips

  • On the Ziploc Perfect Portions, gramma shares: “the plastic conforms to the meat (unlike Ziploc bags themselves), and thus helps to prevent freezer burn.”
  • Anne comments: “I would like to share a tip on hot peppers and contacts. I’ve found that the Clear Care contact solution does a GREAT job of removing those oils from the contacts. When I used to use the multi-purpose-type solutions, I would take the contacts out fine, but when I went to put them back in, they were contaminated by the residual oils on my fingers and would burn like crazy. Since switching to Clear Care – not a problem at all. It’s hydrogen peroxide, so you have to be careful not to use it like a rinse, but I am a huge fan!” I totally agree! It was recommended to me by an optometrist many years ago and I only use that type now.

McDonalds

Savers

  • From Outlander: “Savers in St. Charles is closing. Everything 50%off and today is the last day. Still quite a bit left I think.”

Sears Outlet

  • Martha posts about the free swimsuit on Facebook: “I went to the Naperville store, and really all that was there was non-matching separates for both girls and women (didn’t bother looking for boys/mens). So unless you’re able to be creative with the tops and bottoms, you might be wasting your time.

Target

  • Shandelle reports: “The GoPicnic items are also generating $1.50/2 target store coupons at the register! I’ve gotten 4 of them so far. So they can stack with the free coupon. The free coupon also says $2.98 off but scans for $3 off.”
  • And she asks: “Are there any other kinds carried at Target? I’ve been picking them up at Target every time I’m there since the coupon came out.. I have so many (good donation items) but I’m wondering if they carry any other kinds than the 3 breakfast ones.”

Valli

  •  Emily on the deli ends: “I believe they are in the bottom of the open cooler with the macaroni and potato salads across from deli now”

  • DON says: “Caputos almost always has these [deli ends], same price, 1.99 I believe …. we scavenge and give the rest to the dogs :)”
  • Sarah asks: “Is this Angelo Caputo’s? Where do they keep them?” In Elmwood Park, they are at the bottom of a tall refrigerator case across from the end of the deli closest to meat and produce, near the olive bar.
  • And DON responds: “YUP, Angelo Caputo’s Naperville, Deli area in the back near the corner”

CVS

  • From evelyn: “I don’t know if everyone has the same offers but for me jingit has .80 back on water (it says $3 minimum purchase for the water but I have never had a receipt rejected for not meeting the minimum purchase amount.). And .50 for scott toilet paper.”
  • A question from Natalie on the Scott bath tissue: “I was wondering if it is also on the regular one not the soft one. If so does anyone else know the roll count.”

Household tips

  • Jane warns: “Wear gloves if you wear contacts as well. I learned the hard way years ago I had cut up hot peppers and took out my contacts hours after touching the pepper seeds/membranes and burned my eyes and the contacts! Nothing takes the oils out of the lenses (soft) even after I cleaned/soaked them they still burned. I did dishes and washed my hands several times during the day before touching the contacts and it still burned! I had to throw out those lenses. Since that time, I now wear gloves or use the knife to remove the seeds from peppers.”
  • On the deli ends, Kari O. shares: “My husband gets these and pulls out his sushi cookie cutter. We end up with fun shapes and he puts them in my daughters bento case for homemade lunchables. Easy and cheap!”
  • She also says: “I got these [Perfect Portions bags] free from the Jewel freezer promo last year. I have only used half the box since then, but I don’t portion out meats often. My family uses a whole package in most cases. lol. But we do use them for popcorn a lot. This way my kiddos can take a handful to go without using an expensive ziploc or taking a Tupperware container and losing it.”

Shop and Save

  • Laura recommends: “Also check Shop and Save, they usually have these [deli ends] buy one get one free.”

Ultra Foods

  • A report from twells on the free milk mobile coupon: “There is no expiration date. The coupon have an PLU number not a barcode.”

Caputo’s

  • Outlander reports: “I went to Caputo’s to check if they got Driscoll’s [raspberries] in stock now, since I got 2 rainchecks for 10 each when they were $0.99 and they WERE!! Yes!!! They are also on sale for $1.50, so $0.50 after Q. I got some with my rainchecks and some with their sale price. I had 23 Qs with me and I bought 24, just to make sure there’s no trouble. They were pretty good about it. They asked me if the Qs were copies, so I pointed out all the different numbers on them, and they just entered them no problem! I’m very happy now. I’m gonna make a couple of batches of jam, eat some, freeze some, bake with some… Yummy!”
