However I too would love to know of any good recipes. Thanks!”

Reader requests

  • Connie asks: “anyone seen a good price on charcoal? We’re getting to the bottom of our bag.”
  • Mandy replies: “You can check out Home Depot for charcoal. They seem to run a lot of great deals on Kingsford.” Their current deal is $19.87 for the twin pack here, but it has gone cheaper.
  • And a question from jane: “Does anyone know of a good deal on Scott’s grass seed (we like “High Traffic”)? I only need a small bag, and I see that Ace has 3 lbs. for $15, but was hoping to find it for less than that.”

Rebates

  • If you, like feelgood, had trouble with the Seagram’s rebate a while back — you’re not alone. From April: “To feelgood, I had same expirience a few years ago with rebate from Staples and Chase bank. I deposited rebate for about $6 and it’s bounced. Chase charged me returned check fee, don’t remember how much it was. I had to straighten out it with customer service. Chase reverced charges after conversation. I also calles Staples rebate center and they promised to mail another rebate, but I have never got it. So it seems to me that maybe Chase bank is a common denominator here. Anyway it’s a lot of headache, sorry.”
  • Sarah had a different problem: “For the Smirnoff rebate…I recieved a postcard that my rebate was not valid stating my rebate form was only valid in Washington?! I picked up my rebate at Jewel! I called and the person on the phone said she would have a manager review it. That was two weeks ago. I’ve heard nothing.”
  • And ellen had yet another problem: “my daughter got her rebate but it was for $40.00 instead of the $60 she was promised. I don’t know if she deposited it yet. she banks at chase too”

Target

  • Considering the sale Fitbit Flex? From lynn: “I’ve had one for about a year and it definitely motivates me to move more. I find it to be quite accurate and the charge lasts a good while. I would like it more if I had the very expensive Tory Burch bracelet for it, but overall, I’m quite pleased :-). I can’t compare to other products though, as I’ve not used any. HTH”
  • Connie also likes hers: “Ive got a Flex and I love it. Its a visusl reminder to me to stay on the right path, and the fun little celebration when you hit your daily goal is great! I got mine at Costco with the extra bracelets so I can change colors whenever II want.”
  • And Cari likes hers, too: “I love my Fit Bit Flex as well. I have it synced with a lot of aps. If I had the money I would upgrade to the one that tracks heart rate but I am really happy with my flex!!”
  • If you still have the high value Purina Purpose coupons, Jane comments: “I bought 2 of the listed codes for the Huggies wipes this morning at Target in Bradley and did NOT get a Catalina. I did finally find 2 of the Purina Purpose cat litters in stock and was able to use that high value $10/2 manuf. coupon on them AND they are now generating a $10 Catalina on 2 boxes! It is listed on the shelf as well.”

LivingSocial

  • CynthiaW highly recommends this Brickworld deal: “Brickworld Chicago is the most AWESOME LEGO event possible; even though it is not officially sponsored by LEGO. It gets bigger and better every year; they had to move it to the Schaumburg Renaissance two years ago because it keeps growing. My hubby, son, and I all LOVE it; thus, I’m sad we’re going to be out-of-town during the event this year. It’s always on Father’s Day week-end. We’ve been the last five years. The original creations on display are made by LEGO fans of ALL ages from all over the world. LEGO has later taken and turned some of the creative ideas into actual sets. This event includes displays, contests, stop motion LEGO movies, vendors, etc. It is well worth the visit! Happy building!”

Rebates

  • A question from feelgood: “Anyone else having problems with Smirnoff rebates? I submitted my claim for $60.00 the beginning of January. Finally got a $60.00 postcard check from Diageo a week ago. Big Lots

CVS

  • A heads up from Kate: “The $3/3 Crest coupon doesn’t work because the toothpaste on sale is only 2.9 oz.”
  • Confirmation from liz on some of this week’s deals: “I went to c v s at midnight..the 1ounce biorre worked and the Irish spring signature soap was included in the deal..”
  • Judy comments: “I bought 1 Hydrating and 1 Exfoliating Scrub, both Signature for Men, paid nothing except tax, and I did get the $2 ECBs.”

Meijer

  • From Nikki: “About the issue feelgood had at Meijer, with the prorated coupons- this is almost always the case. I often get $1.50/$10 frozen food (or similar) cat qs from Meijer, and it will prorate any qualifying items- & their corresponding coupons.”
  • And finds from feelgood: “Check your Meijer for clearance. Went to the Homer Glen Meijer this morning, the Fairlife 2% white milk was marked down to $0.99, used $0.75/1 tearpad coupons from another store to get these for $0.24 each. Also at the north entrance door, there was a table set up with several varieties of Rudi’s organic breads, rolls and bagels for $1.00 or less. Had a $1.00/1 mPerks and also two $1.00/1 coupons from Rudi’s website, so got 3 of those for free.”

Menards

  • Don shares: “Emerald Green arborvitae #7 pot, $29.88 get $10 rebate limit 6 – I grabbed 2 of these as they look very nice at this price…. used a 5 off 50 on this transaction making these $35/2 or $17.50 after rebate…. might get another 1 or 2….. there was 1 person getting 16 and although there were a lot there this morning , they were going very fast”
  • Mary comments on some of the free after rebate items: “Regarding the Menard’s 1 star deal, I must say their great deals emailed to me over the years have fallen way short. I will not be ordering anything from them sight unseen myself….last year they offered small 9″ maybe? metal cooling fans for a terrific price, something like $5.00 each. That’s about what they were worth when I got them, hardly any air pushed out, I couldn’t believe it. I tried to post a review online, but wouldn’t you know it the review wouldn’t stick.”

ALDI

  • Caroline on Facebook found: “YMMV Aldi has Starburst jellybeans for .25 a bag.”

Contacts

  • Meg shares: “I wanted to share something I just learned. I’ve been looking for a contact lens exam so that I can buy another year’s worth of my contact lenses. Most of those cheap exams at LensCrafters and the like do not cover contact lenses. And I stumbled across this little known (to me, anyway) fact: you do not need a valid prescription to purchase contact lenses in British Columbia. And online retailers located in BC will ship to the US. I was skeptical, but my years’ supply of Accuvue arrived today and they are exactly the same ones I’ve been wearing. The site I used was http://www.visionpros.ca and I just entered the prescription info off one of my current boxes of lenses. Of course, it’s recommended to get an eye exam every year. So I will probably still go get a $19 one just to ensure good eye health. But I won’t need the pricier contact lens exam, at least not every year.”

Dollar Tree

  • Print the new $1.00/2 Thomas’ coupon, because focadima comments: “My dollar tree also carries these by the brownberry bread”

Jewel

  • A find from Dee Clawed on Facebook: “Jewel is clearancing Mt. Olive Super Stacker dill pickles. They were marked $1.34 for large jars but rang up at .74 cents! There were also .55 cent coupons elastic-banded to the lids making for .19 cent big jars of pickles! Be careful as these are the long flat slice…not the quartered spears.”

Mariano’s

  • A confirmation of the $1.00 Crest toothpaste (use $3.00/3 in the 3/29 PG!) from Linda: “Saw the toothpaste at Mariano’s today. Still a dollar a tube. In a bin near the checkouts”
  • Print the reset So Delicious coupon, because SoapboxTray found: “So Delicious: These double perfectly at Mariano’s and yogurt are regular price 1.99 so free on Wednesdays. Yum!”

Meijer

  • On the cheap Lactaid milk at Target, feelgood points out: “Just an FYI, the free Fairlife 2% white and chocolate milk at Meijer this week are also lactose free.”

Reader requests

  • One from Coreena: “Hi! Need some help finding protective covers for an IPhone 6. Thoughts?? TIA!”
  • Laura asks: “Has anyone else noticed that all of the flavors of Dole Squish ‘ems have hard little pieces of rind or something in them. I’ve bought different packs thinking it was just that particular pack but the hard pieces are always in there. I’ve contacted the company and even sent in one of the hard pieces and all they do is send coupons for more of the product. They are on clearance at my local jewel and I think that is maybe why. None of the other brands of these applesauce pouches have this problem.”

Rebates

  • Jadeyzma replies to the Smirnoff rebate question from yesterday: “Feel good, I’m still waiting on my rebate for Smirnoff too…they are definitely behind this time. I did get an email saying that it has been received and being processed. Go online to check your status…it hasn’t taken this long in the past.”
  • But a heads up from Anne: “Just a heads up on the Smirnoff Rebate – make sure they send you the correct amount. I looked up to make sure I’d received my rebate (I had, about a month ago), BUT it was only for $40, not the $60 I was supposed to receive.”
  • Alicia says: “I got my Smirnoff a week or two ago. Yours should be on its way!”
  • And if you’ve been waiting for Kohl’s appliance rebates, good news from letsshop: “Wanted to mentioned received rebates from Kohls slow cookers deal ! Put all 4 rebates in one envelope because I was able to buy them at the store ,since they ran out of stock ! was sent in 2 CG in the amount of $40 ,took a extra 3 weeks because of stores type of receipts ): but all is well .”

Target

  • Another Easter clearance candy idea from Diane: “On the Target M & M’s, suprise I was at Target today too, LOL. Anyway, we had a buy a 9 oz or larger bag of M&M’s & get the crispy M&M’s free. I only had the Target $1/2 M&M coupon left, so got 4 bags of M&M’s ( 2 Easter & 2 Crispy) for .90 cents! No sure which insert, I think weekend of 4/12.” 4/12/15 RP.
  • And a clearance candy find from Caroline on Facebook: “And if you still have the Hersey $2/3 Easter candy coupon you can pick up bags of Cadbury mini-eggs at Target for .33 cents a bag for the 10 oz bags.”
  • If you’re having trouble with the codes for the Kimberly-Clark deal, a reminder from shirley: “The old code is missing a letter so try TGTE59AF. Make sure you enter this one first if your subtotal is like mine $55.xx. Hope this helps.”
  • If you’re still having trouble, vicki suggests: “Try TGTCDQH5″
  • A heads up from Kerri: “The Kleenex is still on the page but when you add to the cart and try to put the 10 off 50 coupon in it says you don’t have enough in your cart for that offer.”
  • And Chris shares on Facebook that: “A heads up for Super Target on Diehl in Warrenville: they are resetting dairy and frozen. Lots of frozen fish and desserts plus MP and Kraft cheeses today. Cashier told me to keep checking back all week, a lot more will go on clearance instead of moving it . Works for me!”

Walmart

  • A find from Nancy M.: “Colgate spinbrush in box with toothpaste at Walmart are ringing up $0.59.
They had SpongeBob and Hello Kitty.”

Whole Foods

  • From Judy: “Mambo Sprouts has a DeBoles $1/1 coupon. Checkout 51 has $2/2, must be purchased in 1 transaction. Whole Foods has some DeBoles pasta on sale for $2.19 throught [today], 4/14. $.19 pasta. The boxes are only 8 oz.” I don’t have the DeBoles offer; check your Checkout 51 to see if you do.
