barilla

Barilla is partnering with Feeding America to donate fresh produce to local food banks — how awesome is that? For every jar of Barilla sauce purchased, Barilla will donate $0.05 to Feeding America’s National Produce Program, which secures one pound of fresh produce on behalf of local food banks. Barilla will make a minimum donation of 4.2 million pounds of fresh produce ($150,000) from 3/1/14-5/31/14.

Doesn’t matter which store you are buying your Barilla at — they’re donating to Feeding America for every jar purchased within those dates. But, if you live near a Giant, Martin’s, Stop & Shop (4/25-5/1) or Giant Food Store (4/27-5/3), they’ll also be making additional matching donations to local Feeding America food banks for Barilla sauce purchases at those stores, which are located in CT DC, DE, MA, MD, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VA, and WV.

I just love when big brands help their local community. Something like this definitely will make me pick up Barilla to help the cause. I have been dying to try their Marinara and now I definitely will pick up a jar.
