Coupons 101 — This Sunday, Franklin Park Library
I’m teaching a Coupons 101 class this Sunday at the Franklin Park Library — if you’re reading this blog, you probably already know the basics I’ll be going over, but just thought I’d share!

Hi Rachel,
I am in need of juice boxes for school lunch, do you have any good deal on juices ? Preferrably Jewel,I have few catalinas to use.:)
Thanks in advance.
Meg
There has been a little bit of discussion on Money Saving Mom about Target coupons and the hassle that people have using them. Money Saving Mom gave this website address for Target’s policy on coupons: http://www.target.com/b/ref=br_bx_4/192-9168409-2594745?ie=UTF8&node=2223357011. She suggested people print this and carry it with them to the store. I was wondering if you ever have issues uses the Super Target coupons. It seems that every time I take a Super Target coupon in they will not scan for the cashier. The cashier automatically assumes that there is a problem with the coupon and not with the machine. They ultimately always refuse these coupons if they do not scan. Do you have any suggestions?
karen — Target is one of those stores like Dominick’s, where it varies so much from store to store. I don’t shop at my closest Target anymore after a few encounters (accusing me of coupon fraud, sighing and rolling their eyes, making up reasons not to take coupons). Instead, I drive 10 minutes further to the one where they’re nice. (The only thing they won’t do there is adjust a coupon down if there’s overage and it beeps, but I can live with that.)
If it’s Target coupons they’re having trouble with, you might try printing them inside the store. (You can print them right on their gift registry kiosks!) Then you can show CS that hey, your coupon, FROM YOUR OWN STORE.
And having the policy with you never hurts. Also you can call corporate if you have consistent problems with one store not taking their OWN coupons.
Meg — Sorry, don’t know of any great deals right now. If I find one, I’ll of course post it! As far as lunches, though, I just bought a small refillable bottle for juice and fill it from the big bottles — it’s cheaper. I can also easily swap out with water & milk that way, so he’s not getting juice every day.
Thanks Rachel,
I am doing the same thing right now.But juice boxes helps while travelling.
