New GM Catalina deal at Jewel, 9/3-9/9
![]()
This one doesn’t start til Thursday, guys, so don’t try it yet! It’s a buy $20.00, get $5.00 back on your next order deal — so not as good as some we’ve seen, but there’s definite potential here because there are a lot of good coupons out for the participating products. Couponers Wanted has a list of participating products available (huge props as always to Barb09 and Tracey over there), and there are some listed in Thursday’s Jewel ad.
Here are some products with coupon matchups and preferred pricing. Will not really have a ballpark on “sale” prices until Thursday when people start trying it. Now, for those of you who are bravely doing these deals on sale prices, let me reiterate: If you do Catalina deals at Jewel on sale pricing, there is a risk involved. You can work these off of “sale” pricing (the price a product rings up at before preferred card), but not on “shelf” pricing. Scan your products on the in-store price scanner, because the sale price can vary from store to store and is not always marked on the shelf. If a deal goes wrong, customer service may not help you.

Now, what I’m hoping for is that there is a nice large spread between sale and preferred price on the Pillsbury Grands. My friend Kristy gave me the idea to use these as a “pizza” crust, so I’ve had that in the back of my head for a good sale! I’d also like some frozen veggies, but a) my freezer is kind of full of cheap chicken and ice cream, and, b) we like the Steamers and the pricing here is AWFUL. $2.50/bag? Really, Jewel?

In my ad the Pillsbury Grands before sale price is 4/$9. We know these aren’t always accurate, but one can always hope, right?
Kate — right! If that’s true, it’ll take what, 9 of them? which is great. But it’s often wrong — like the last deal they said in the ad that maxwell house coffee was something like $10.49 before preferred card, and it actually rang up at something like $8.00. So always always check!
Hi,
Do you know if the prices for the Kellogs deal for the old cat ($25/10) have changed? The ad says the deal goes through 9/6 but I wonder if the prices will change. I’m also curious about ordering out of stock items. I have not had any luck with the Wesson oil and would really like to get some. The store told me their big truck comes on Tuesdays so I even went yesterday evening and still couldn’t find any. I have read briefly about pre-paying? Do you know anything about that? Thanks!
Michelle — Some of the prices will change tomorrow (Th) with the new ad, but not sure what all will remain the same. If you look at the sale tags under the Wesson (or the spot where it should be) it should say an end date on the sale price.
And yes, some stores will let you do a special order and prepay so that you pay, get your cats, and then just bring in the proof that you paid when you go to pick the items up. Some stores aren’t so keen on it.
Thanks, Rachel. I appreciate your help.
Michelle
coupons.com has coupons for betty crocker cake mix/frosting this morning.
Rachel, I found a REALLY great recipe for using the Grands– I made it yesterday for a football “draft” party. They’re called Meatball Pops. You can get the recipe on Pillsbury.com.
They were a big hit!
We’ve also made monkey bread (also on the site). I didn’t like the Grands as pizza crust as much as I thought I would.
I have been thinking about the monkey bread! the kids would love the meatball pops. Do you think they’d be OK without the croutons? hmm.
