Reader deals 7/19/10
Joy sent in the above shelf tag from her Walgreens — not such a great reader deal, but an amusing deal!
Anyway, here are the deals YOU found recently. Thanks! Share the deals you find with other Mashup Mom readers by emailing me, commenting on the blog, posting to the forum, or posting on the Facebook Wall — which now has a really easy-to-remember address at http://www.facebook.com/mashupmom
Bacardi
- From ChicagoBarb: “I found the rebate for $60 at the Binny’s on Wellington and Clark in Chicago. Yey!”
- Dani says: “just heads up on bacardi rebate form….the address is difficult to read so I called. the address is P.O. Box 1222K. I couldn’t make that one out and thought the letter at the end was “H”. So, I called and rep. confirmed that it’s a K.” Update: Many more people say it’s been confirmed it’s an H! I don’t have one, just reporting what you all tell me…
CVS
- From Dana: “i asked if they were getting any more m&m’s in and the cashier said no, but they’d honor the coupon w/the ecb’s for regular m&m’s. (it was in Barrington).”
Dominick’s
- From Jeanne: “Dominicks in Joliet – Essington Rd. Doritos are on sale BOGO for $3.99. Found a tear pad by the Sunchips, Buy 2 Doritos get Sunchips Free. So all for $3.99. Sorrento 16 pack String Cheese was marked 50% off of the regular price of $4.99. The packages had rebate peelies for Buy 2 cheese snack packages get $5 back. So both will be free after the rebate.” That’s a great deal — I bought two for $10.00 with two $2.00/1 peelies a while back and just got my rebate yesterday, but this is even better.
- Matt says: “I usually find some good dairy items on clearance at the Bartlett and Bloomingdale Dominick’s stores.”
Jewel
- From Nicole on Facebook: “Hey there- I was at the Minooka Jewel today and found a couple of things- there was a sizzling savings booklet in the seasonal dept- it has a bunch of coupons ($1 off 2 Klondike, $1 off 2 popsicle ice pops, $1 off Pam, $1 off 3 super chill nutrient enhanced water- which were also on sale for 69cents today) plus some more coupons). Also- cremette pasta was on clearance for 69 cents a box for every kind of pasta including lasagna and manicotti. Just wanted to share!”
- Steve suggests using the $2.00 produce coupon on those pistachios that are BOGO at $4.99. Use two of the $1.00/1 mfr coupons, then use the produce coupon and get two for $.99!
Meijer
- Susan found: “Mejier also has coke on sale for 1.99 (at the new orland park location)”
Old Navy
- Lori confirms you can stack the 30% off new arrivals code with the free shipping over $50 code!
Once Upon a Child
- Cindy comments on Facebook that: “The childrens resale shop Once upon a Child (Round Lake) is closing several of the stores that they own. All clothing is $1 and 40% off of toys and accessories. Scored lots of great clothes!!!!” She also says it’s cash only.
Target
- Sue B. shares: “Target clearance deals- at target.com there is a $3.00 off q good toward any Merona purse. Target has several summer Merona canvas purses on clearance for $2.50 (75% off) I got a cute pink striped purse for free plus .50 overage. Also if anyone has the (non-expired) playdoh q (from the spin the wheel game – I of course can’t find where I put mine) Target marked down the Spaghetti set to 7.98.”
Walgreens
- Gretchenld says: “Also be careful at Walgreens with the Massaging Gel insoles if they adjust the price down, you may go below the $10 required to get the $5 RR. At my store they were 12.99, so just one pair was above $10. With the coupon and RR, I paid 4.99 for the insole, pretty good since my husband needed them.”
- From Jane: “letsshop is right—the Wags July coupon book is $5 off “Hidden Arch Support, Massaging Gel inserts,” not all the massaging gel insoles. The coupon is very confusing to read, and I wasted a lot of time at check-out, so keep this in mind when/if you go. I did buy the insoles I wanted with the $2 mfr coupon and received a $5 RR, so not a bad deal in the end.”

Thnaks Dani for the Barcardi address. I had mine ready to go in the mail tonight, but with the H at the end of the po box (I couldn’t read it either).
Maybe that is the latest trick to keep us from receiving our rebates.
At the Yorkville Jewel there are tear pads for $1.00 off Sara Lee buns wyb ballpark franks. The coupons were already expired, so I took some to Dominicks. I planned on buying ballpark anyway!
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned that Betty Crocker Warm Delights is generating a crazy amount of ecoupons. At Dom’s in Oswego, some are $1.49 “reduced for quick sale”. I had a 75 cent exp q from a GM booklet in Jewel a few months ago and 4 ecoupons came off, giving me $1.50 in overage. I also got 40 oz Bisquick for free with tiny overage with exp $1 q from the GM booklet and 3 ecoupons. ALSO, Huggies wipes 64ct are on sale for $1.99. I used exp $1/1 q and TWO $2 ecoupons came off, giving me $3 in overage!
OK, I was leary about the H or K on the Bacardi rebate as well. I got out a magnifying glass (per the rep.) and well, its an H. I called the phone # and the rep. I got was unsure…she said there *was* a rebate that was 1222K but she was going to confirm w/ the rebate house, they were closed when I called. I gave her all of the info. on my rebate postmarked by 9/? (not in hand now) $5/2, etc….. $60/6. She is calling me back tomorrow to verify.
AYE, this makes me nervous, its alot of money to float and not get back.
