Refund Rewards — Jewel

Published by rachel at 10:06 pm under jewel

If you buy a Jewel gift card between 3/18-4/15,  you’ll get a “bonus” added to it in honor of tax day. (Last time you could only purchase these at the service desk.)

  • Buy a $300 Jewel gift card, get an extra $30 loaded on it.
  • Buy a $250 Jewel gift card, get an extra $25 loaded on it.

Yes, it’s a big hit all at once, but that’s an extra 10%!

(Thanks, Couponing for 4!)

Is this the one where you get $300 if you purchase a $1200?

I do love that! AND it’s nice since the Your Bucks bonus isn’t on Jewel gift cards!

Bonnie-Last year you could buy up to 4 $300 gift cards and then they would load each one with $330. So you would spend $1200 but get $1320. HTH

This is an awesome deal if you have the money to put up now. It is a big hit all at once as Rachel said, but there is no where else that you are going to earn 10% on your money right now TAX FREE!

Don’t forget if you you have a discover card and sign up for their monthly bonus. You earn 5% this month on Grocery and Drugstore purchases up to $200….I’m hoping this would count.

Rita- that makes my decision easy! Thank you! I forgot about the 5%!

If you buy a gift card for a resturant at Jewel…and you spend over $50 do you get $5 your bucks?

I just discovered Couponing For 4…love all these sites!

So … in theory … if you pay $1200, get $1320 … then buy 26 $50 gift cards (gas, restaurants, etc.), you’d get another $130 in YourBucks. That’s an extra $250! (And $10 if you do the Discover deal.)

That’s a pretty good rate of return.

The “get $5 YB when you spend $50″ ends Tuesday I believe. But the “get $6 when you spend $60″ continues for another couple of weeks. Yesterday I bought $50 in restaurant gift cards and $15 in groceries and got the $6 YB.

    so If I buy a $250 GC I will get $25 xtra+6YB ??

I’m actually thinking about buying a gift card. It’s been 2 years now since the disastrous day I lost my nearly full $300 Jewel gc. My mistake was keeping it in my coupon binder, which slipped out of my cart (and yes I lost all my coupons too but who cares!). Next time I will keep it in my wallet.

Oh man, though. I’m scared to do it.

Vaneska — you don’t get the $6 YB for buying Jewel gift cards, so that wouldn’t work. But, if I understand right, people are saying you could buy the Jewel gift card, and get the extra loaded on it from the Refund Rewards. Then you use the Jewel gift card to buy restaurant/gas/etc gift cards. If you buy, say, 2 $25 gift cards, plus $10 of groceries, or $60 in gift cards you should get the $6 YB. The question I have is, can you really buy other gift cards with a Jewel gift card?

  12. rachelon 14 Mar 2010 at 10:17 pm

Corissa — yes you can, I’ve done it.

Carrie — YIKES. I’m so paranoid of losing my little coupon wallet I bring to the store — it has my Jewel gc, my Target gc, and a whole slew of Cats in it right now.

vaneska — Yes, what Corissa said. Also you have to buy the “bonus” cards at the service desk, no cat machine :) .

And I think the Discover deal should work when you buy gift cards, but I’m not quite sure. It’s only 5% up to $200 in purchases, so a max of $10 total.
