Dominick’s. This week is the most action Dominick’s has seen in months!
- This is an un-deal, but it looks like the bonus packs of fruit snacks are the ones that aren’t triggering the Betty Crocker Catalina. So watch out!
- Lynn shares: “Dominick’s has a decent deal on Diet Coke/Coke Zero if you have the right q’s. Coke 12 packs are 3.33 when you buy 3 or more, and you get a free 6-pack of 24oz Coke Zero (bottles) this week when you buy 3 of the 12 pack (cans). Dominicks has a store coupon for $1/off 2-12 packs in a small booklet called “It’s never too early to (heart) your Heart”. This is maybe 4″ by 4″ and the coke q is on the back cover. Then there is a manufacturer q in their “Live WholeHeartedly Now” booklet (and there a number of others that may or may not be expired, like the Jewel Strawberry booklet). So, buy 4- 12 packs for $13.32, use $2 of Store q’s, $2 of Manufacturer q’s and pay $9.32 for 4 12 packs, plus the 6 pack of Coke Zero bottles. Watch the Dominick’s store q’s, because they do that weird $.01 thing sometimes! (I had a free 12-pack q and my very nice checker took off $4.99, so I only bought 3 and got a really good deal!)” The store coupon booklet is by the pharmacy at most stores. If you ARE buying the Coke, Tammie found peelies on Barq’s root beer: Buy three 12-packs of Coke, get $3.00 off. “Bought 3 12pack’s Diet cokes used the 3.00 off peelie and got the 6 pack of 24oz coke zero free when purchasing 3 12packs. All for 6.97.” Here, you could also use the $1.00/2 store coupon to save another $1.00.
- Lynn also found: “The Post Great Grains are $1.50 each with the buy 5, save $5. Buy 5, use 2 $1/2 q’s, pay $5.50 and get a $4 cat back — $.30/box after cat. The Raisin, Date & Pecan is delicious! I eat it for dessert and feel a little virtuous . . .” $1.00/2 in the 2/28 or 3/14 SS. You can also use the $2.00/1 printable here if you haven’t yet.
- Angela says: “The Dominick’s in Rogers Park on Damen Ave often undercuts the prices on a couple items each week compared to other Dominicks. This week .. their Barilla pasta is $0.79. (not sure how this is related to other stores advertising 0.88 but charging 0.79). Another example of cheaper prices at this location this week is the Minute Maid OJ is 1.77 each, not 2/$4. Last week, this location had asparagus for 0.99/lb compared to others at 1.29/lb. This Dominicks store had a ‘grand reopening’ last summer/spring – I always thought that might be the reason that have cheaper prices on some items, sometimes. You can compare their ad online with other Dominicks.” Apparently some stores have the Barilla for $.79 and others for $.88, but the other prices seem to be Rogers-Park specific.
Jewel
- Keep checking that clearance section for new random things each day. I found Tazo Chai tea for $1.00 at my Jewel today, and Heather found $5.00 Easy Ups at hers.
- JaniceT points out that there’s a FREE Jose Ole chimichanga coupon in the Jewel freezer booklet, if you want to use that on the Chill deal.
- Heather notes that though the Toll House morsels coupon says $.75/2, it prints out as $.75/1! So: Buy two Toll House morsels for $5.00. Use two $.75/1 and now you’re at $3.50. Get back $1.50 YourBucks and you’re at $1.00/bag. [Note: won't let you sign in to get the coupon in Firefox, so use IE.] I think I’m going to wait a bit and see if these go on sale, because I’m stocked up from all the Walgreens holiday deals — the coupon doesn’t expire til 6/30, and the YourBucks runs through 4/20.
Meijer
- Sara comments that the Barilla pasta whole wheat is on sale for $.89 — use the $.55/1 in the 3/7 SS to get it for $.34.
- Kristine says: “Meijer has OM hot dogs 2/$3 with 2 ONYO back, for a net of 2/$1″
Restaurant.com
- Lisa is so smart! “One of the last times this [80% off] was offered, I was really disappointed that a restaurant I liked was out of gift certificates. That’s when I discovered that I could just buy a generic restaurant.com gift certificate for 80% off. Then, I just used that to get a restaurant coupon once the restaurant coupons were replenished.”
Trades
- There are several people looking to trade coupons on the forum, so if you haven’t been over there in a bit you might want to check that out.

If you get the Tribune delivered, there is a sample of Quaker Oatmeal Squares in the wrapper. The back of the box has a $1 coupon. This is on 5/$5 sale at Dominick’s this week. FREE cereal. YUM!
Family Dollar store Sunday insert shows Clairol Balsam hair color for $2.50. 3/7 P&G has a $5/2 coupon for any Clairol hair color. Not the best perhaps (in my opinion) but a freebie to keep for emergencies?
This cereal sample must be in limited areas, since I get four papers delivered and received nary a one.
My jewel (Bolingbrook) had a number of different kinds of beer on clearance.. .25 cents per can. that works out to be a 1.50 a six pack.. can’t beat that..I got like 3 cases.. and didn’t get it all since my hubby don’t like bud…
Jewel in Aurora on Eola and N. Aurora Rd had fleece blankets on clearance for 49 cents, and ear cuffs for 29 cents. Also lots of scarfs, gloves, socks and other fleecy things for 99 cents.
Toys R Us has their Hasbro Card Games on a one day BOGO tomorrow only (Monday, March 15). Pair this sale with the printable coupons Hasbro has to offer to make the deal even better. Looks like Monopoly Deal is $5.99. Use one coupon good for $5 off any Monopoly game and get 2 games for $.99.
Lisa — Oops, I just saw this, I think they’re closing now!
