How many papers? Week of 2/28/10

Published by rachel at 5:44 pm under how many papers, inserts

There is just one lonely coupon insert this week: A SmartSource. For the Mommas has the full list for you — as always, use this as a general guide, knowing that coupons and values can vary regionally. What am I looking forward to?

  • $.55/1 Hormel Chili Master chili — that goes nicely with the YourBucks deal at Jewel.
  • $1.00/2 Dentyne gum. Yes, we like gum here.
  • $1.50/1 Pull-Ups — always good.
  • $4.00/1 Schick Quattro for women and $4.00/1 Schick Intuition plus — always razor deals about.
  • $.75/1 Red Baron single serve — on the Just Chill deal at Jewel. (I’m not buying this myself, because ugh Red Baron, but…)
  • $1.00/2 Post Cereal. Catalina deals.
  • $3.00/1 Purina ONE cat or dog food.
  • $1.00 off Pert Plus and $1.50 off Pert Plus for Men will probably get you free shampoo, if you like this stuff and are patient.

So how many?

I’m dithering. This week is dull, but I could use the Purina ONE coupons — how come they couldn’t put those in a week where I otherwise wanted multiple papers? :) How many are you getting?

Getting your paper(s)

Here again is the post with a bunch of ideas on getting cheap newspapers, although the Menard’s “15% off everything you can fit into a reusable bag” sale is long over. Reminder: The Dollar Tree and Menard’s in Illinois (apparently, from your comments, some but not all stores in Kenosha/NW Indiana) both carry the Chicago Tribune for $1.00, and you can pick up the early Sunday edition by mid-morning Saturday.

Note: If this code isn’t working for you anymore or if you find a new one, please comment here and I will update. If you want to have one or more delivered, wazsup says on the forum: “I have a code for everyone to get the Chicago Tribune delivered for 50 cents per week for the Sunday edition! Go to chicagotribune.com enter your zip code and the following code…. 0aup (that’s a zero) code is good for 26 weeks so mark your calendars to do it again in 26 weeks. Also, to get 2 copies delivered, sign up 1 account in your spouse’s name and another account in yours”

I never use the pet food coupons…. I would happily send you all the pet food coupons from the papers I get this weekend. Not that I’m planning to buy that many.

you can make teh 50 cent trib code work for you EVEN MORE

There are two codes out there for getting target gift cards when you use the easy pay option to pay for your subscription.. one will get you a $10 GC, one will get you a $15GC

The $15 GC code is 135 (one three five)

It is faster to give both codes over the phone, but you can sign up with the 50 code online and choose to have your bill mailed to you – that way you can use the GC code when you mail the bill in…

    do the math – 26 weeks at 50 cents is $13.00. getting a $15 GC back – a $2 MM!

Email me your address and I’ll be happy to send you my 4 Purina One coupons so no need to order more papers – it’s the least I could do to say thanks for all your hard work keeping us informed about all these deals.

I get 4 tribs delivered and 1 daily herald, and I too do not have a dog and would be more than happy to mail you my Purina One coupons. Just email me and let me know where to send them!

Aww, you guys are so sweet. PO Box and new goofy photo here: http://www.mashupmom.com/?page_id=25

Rebecca — Is the 135 code working again? it had stopped working last week.

I’ll probably get a few, as there are some pretty good Dannon yogurt coupons and they are participating products on the upcoming ConAgra et. al. catalina deal at Jewel (list on CW) that starts tomorrow. The Danimals are on sale for $2 right now, making them $1 after coupon and hopefully a lot cheaper if not free this week! Also, the list has a 0.75/1 coupon for McCain potato products. My kids love the smiley fries and they go on sale BOGO at Jewel about once a month (reg. price around $4).

I love the picture! I saw it tonight and was like…that’s what she looks like!

I get two papers delievered and dh always grabs the inserts from the sunday paper at work ;-) Love having three copies!

Sara — Oh yeah, forgot about Dannon a little (too much to keep track of and I haven’t really looked at that yet — that was for this weekend’s posting fun!).

Heather — LOL — I hate the way I look in photos — dh thought the coupons would be funny.

rachel – sorry if that code didn’t work! It worked for me not to long ago (but yes, it was more than a wee ago).

I ended up getting 21 papers – we eat tons of Dannon products, the frozen vegetables and Fisher nuts constantly. Plus I can stock up on gum and Post cereal – for just one insert, it had a lot of coupons for products we love. :)

The .50 code worked for me today, I wasn’t asked for the GC code but was told I would get a $15 Target one.

I called to order 2 Sunday subscriptions today.

Call 1…during the hold time, a recording said something about the “Deals Delivered Program” so I asked about it. It’s a FREE program to only receive the Sunday inserts including coupons so I signed up for it and tried to order 2 Sunday papers but she said I could only do 1 and to call CS so see if I can add an additional paper….?

Call 2…ordered the 2nd .50 paper and asked to sign up for the “Deals Delivered Program” and at first was told I couldn’t because I’m already getting the inserts with my paper. So…does that mean I should’ve just enrolled in the “Deals Delivered Program” and save myself .50? Then was told it isn’t offered in my area. Hmm….

Has anyone else heard of this program? I really can’t complain though cause I’m getting 2 Sunday papers for $1.00 and MAYBE 1 “Deals Delivered” insert. I also have a Sun, Wed, Fri subscription that I’m paying *GASP* $1.25 for.

  13. rachelon 04 Mar 2010 at 1:54 pm

Felicia — never heard of that! Let me know if it works…

I realize this is WAY after the fact but I receive the Deals Delivered package and it’s a big disappointment. Either my delivery person is stealing my inserts or they just aren’t as good as the packages in the paper.

They are a trial service that was only good in certain zip codes. Expired on 3/12.

Last week, I ONLY received the P&G (not the SS or RP).

The inserts you DO receive are for the smaller papers like LaRaza so there’s no where near as many.

If you were successful in signing up for this, you could probably stop buying the SunTimes (I was only picking up Tribs and got burned during the KMart double couponing because my coupon was for $3 and KMart would only double up to $2.).

I wish I’d seen this post earlier. I just signed up for two Trib subscriptions using code x331 for $.75/Sunday. I would have tried the one here first.
