Reader deals, 2/9/10
Thanks as always to everyone who contributes here! You can always share the deals you find with other Mashup Mom readers by emailing me, commenting on the blog, posting to the forum, or posting on the Facebook Wall.
Dominick’s
- Free Bayer! Kathy posted on the forum: “Bayer asprin low dose 32ct is on sale at dominicks 10/10. Used1/1 Q from 1/31 ss off of any bayer asprin 10 ct ofr larger, and scored free asprin.”
Food 4 Less
- More a warning than a deal — Julie says that the Joliet Food 4 Less is no longer accepting the manufacturer coupons from the Jewel ad.
Jewel
- Clearance vitamins! Mom2TnT posted on the forum: “I went to the Oak Forest Jewel this evening and found that the Sponge Bob & Dora Centrum Children’s Vitamins (ages 2+) were on clearance for $3.74. I used my $2 coupon (1/3 RP) and got them for $1.74… thought I would pass it on since that’s the cheapest I’ve ever bought childrens vitamins for!!” Jewel stores clearance on different schedules, but check your store.
Meijer
- Christy got a Catalina alert: “Spend $10 or more on Folgers coffee, Smucker’s fruit spreads or Hungry Jack breakfast items and receive a custom coupon at checkout to save $2.50 on your next shopping order. Offer valid 2/14/10 – 3/6/10.”
Starbucks
- Jane found that the bags with the coupon for a free tall coffee are still out in stores: “I bought a bag of Cafe Verona on sale at Target last week, and a box of Tazo tea (they have the best prices). I used a $1/1 q from Allyou.com on the Tazo, and an insert q for $1/1 Starbucks when you buy Tazo. Today I was making coffee and noticed that on the side of bag it says “bring this bag to a participating Starbucks when it is empty, and we will give you a free 12oz cup of coffee.” Yay!
”
Ultra
- Jackie spotted another coupon booklet to be on the lookout for: “I found a new coupon book at Ultra superbowl sunday. The front it says “Party recipes and coupons inside, over $12 in savings inside” It contains coupons for Kelloggs products such as cheez-its, crispix, keebler cookies and more! I found it in the very front of the store by the promotional displays.”
Walgreens
- Judy emailed about this one! Big news! New Friends & Family coupon coming out this week: “Just wanted to share: DH just got an email from Wags. Txt HEART to 21525 and receive a txt friends and family coupon for use on February 12th. Good for 15% off items or 20% off Walgreens brand items. They can also go to walgreens.com on February 11th and print the coupon. Coupon must be used at the cosmetics counter or photo counter.” Oooooh… when I think about the amount of money I already spent at Walgreens this week… Anyway, if you have a shopping trip planned, you might want to hold off til Friday. I’ll do a new post on the 11th and link to the coupon + some deals. Like for instance… 15% off huggies is what, now?
- Kate found another deal if you have the January $26 savings coupon booklet from Dominick’s: “If you have the “January 2009″ booklet from Dominicks found in the hair care aisle, there is a $4/2 that includes childrens motrin and benadryl. The motrin come out almost free with this Q and the $3RR back on two. Booklet also has a $2/1 huggies Q.” The deal is $3.00 RR wyb 2 — ad says it’s priced “$2.00 off” but doesn’t list actual price.
- Mara found an Aveeno deal: “I have one more reason to make a trip to walgreens this week. I bought 9 of the Avveno 2.5 oz Daily Moisturizing lotion. They were 20% off priced at 2.87. Used 9 $2 off coupons. Out of pocket $7.83 and I got a $10.00RR back. These are a great size to stock up one for gift baskets.” Look in the 1/10 SmartSource for coupons. There were printables on Coupons.com last month but am not sure if they’re expired.

The 20% off Walgreens brand would be great for the Walgreens Blood pressure cuff. It is $20 off, so that will help bring the price down. I think every house should have one.
I’m looking at the Meijer ad for this coming week. If you didn’t get enough sausage last week….Johnsonville breakfast sausage is 2/$4 but with 2MB q’s, it would be free.
[...] you get the idea. Take any of the weekly deals and go from there. Or use the Aveeno or children’s Motrin deals Kate and Mara found here. An easy way to figure out what 15% off will be is to take the item price and multiply by .85 [...]
Not sure where to post this and it ends today. Just figured it out so thought I would share. Someone may have discovered already.
I saw in a post on CW that if you buy 5 pizza’s the $5 comes off so I thought…why not try just pop.
Bought 6 12packs of coke, diet, zero and the $5 instant came off. Combined that with 7 bags of Chocolate Chex to use my $1 off mixer and $2 off snack WT.
Here’s how it turned out.
6 pop at $3.66 each = $21.96
7 chex at $1.69 each = $11.83
Pre Q total = 33.79
-$6 (6 – $1 off mixer)
-$14 (7 – $2 off snack….if cashire will allow you overage)
-$5 instant for coke
Post Q total $8.79 pre-tax
And receive $5 CAT
Total $8.79 pre-tax for 6 12 pack coke and 7 chex mix. All in all $3.79 ….can’t beat it!!
Of course if you want the regular chex mix you could buy 8 bags and end up with an additional $0.31 off (if your cashier will allow the overage from the snack Q). And if you’re worried about wasting the $1 off mixer Q you could always add a couple 2 liters of something priced around $1 for no additional cost. Just a thought
I got the same response at the Oak Forest Food 4 Less today (re: the Jewel in-ad coupons).
noticed that my CVS had Bliss chocolate on clearance for $2.50 (original $5). there was a $1 coupon in this weekend’s paper. i used a $1 ECB from my bag tag, so i paid $.65 for a $5 bag of chocolate. yummers!
There’s now a “February 2010″ save up to $14 booklet. I found one down near the toothpaste and deodorant in the Safeway here.
I checked 3 Dominicks and could not find the $1 Bayer. Wonder if this was unadvertised and at your store only??? Thanks.
