RecycleBank — sign up, get coupons, recycle
![]()
This is timely — I didn’t post last night because we spent several hours sorting through and reorganizing toys, ending up with several bags to donate (new large toys for Chanukah, some of the old unused and outgrown ones had to go). Then I wake up this morning to every blogger I follow talking about RecycleBank.
Sign up with RecycleBank (big orange button top left), and the immediate benefits to you are that you get 100 points just for registering, which you can redeem for a number of useful coupons. For instance, $1.00 off any Coke product is just 10 points, $2.00 off a Cascadian Farm product, 20 points, free Happy Baby food coupon, 50 points. These are mailed to the address you use when you sign up.
Beyond that, RecycleBank is a very cool program. Unfortunately they don’t do curbside recycling in Illinois yet, but if your area is participating, you can sign up for them to take your recycling. It’s weighed each week, and you earn points for how much you recycle, which can then be redeemed for more coupons and other prizes.
Anyone, however, can recycle electronic products through their site (and earn points). You can also participate in the “Kashless” community, which looks similar to Freecycle but you earn points for posting stuff to give away.
(Thanks, Common Sense with Money! — she mentions a $5.00 Huggies coupon, but that appears to be gone for now.)

The first link goes straight to Pottery Barn. Thanks for this post, I just joined by typing in the full address.
Oops! Guess it didn’t copy. Fixed, thanks.
Thank you! I just “bought” 5-$1.00 off coupons for Diet Coke (Coke products). I read fast so I didn’t realize that it would be sent to my home, I was thinking of using it at Dominicks for their 12 pack sale.
I signed up, too, and got 5 of the $2 Cascadian Farms coupons! I checked out the Kashless program and you get 5 points for every item listed, so the points can add up quickly … 20 items listed and I can get another $10 of coupons! That’s a pretty good return!
They have long expiration dates of 6/30/10, so I was happy about that.
I didn’t see the Huggies $5 q either, but I got $2 Cascadian Farms (love the cereal), 2 $1 Dasanis and 2 $1 Powerades.
Thank you so much. Thats awesome!!!
[...] for free, but no more. The Soft Scrub Total coupons from the paper beeped. The Coke coupons from RecycleBank beeped. The Coke store coupons from the Healthy Heart Booklet rang up as $.01 -$.01 (go figure) so [...]
