Save-a-Lot gift card giveaway (12/14) — CLOSED

OK! One more giveaway for you guys today. I really wish there were a Save-a-Lot around here — the closest one is 15 miles away and there’s no great way to get there, so I think some of my savings would be negated by the gas it would take. Sigh. Just looking through their local-ish weekly ad, I spy: 3 lbs bananas/$1.00, 3-lb bags grapefruit, tangerines, or oranges for $1.50, whole pork roast (bagged), $.99/lb, and a whole holiday dinner for four promo under $20. I like Save-a-Lot just on principle because they also always have great printable manufacturer coupons, and I’ve linked to them before (remember the Hellman’s mayo, Breyer’s, Ragu?).

So — if you live closer to one than I, you are in luck, because I am giving away one $15.00 Save-A-Lot gift card! (Use the store finder here to find one near you.)

I was not compensated monetarily by Save-a-Lot to post this, though they did send me a reusable shopping bag and a box of brownie mix. :) I’ll pick a winner on 12/15/09 using the random number generator on random.org.

I don’t have Save A Lot near me either, but my mom does, and I’ll be staying with her over Christmas!

My favorite store is probably Walmart because I can get everything in one place, but I have a love hate relationship with them considering the lack of sales and hassle I get when trying to use coupons.

I like to shop at Meijer. They have great sales and their own coupons. You can combine their coupons with manufactuer coupons and save a ton of money!

My old favorite was Costco – because they have EVERYTHING, but my new favorite is Jewel!! If you play the coupon game right, you can get much better deals at Jewel than anywhere else.

My favorite store is a local, Town and Country. The cashiers are always patient and they run some pretty great sales. I’m new to the couponing and can’t believe how much better the sales are now!

I love Jewel. I had never stepped foot in there before I started couponing. Thanks to this site, I have saved thousands of dollars on food. And I’m not exagerating. I have 6 kids, so we are a family of 8. The oldest is 18 and the youngest is 19months. We go through a ton of food, as you can imagine. Growing boys! I do have a Save A Lot close to where I work, but I’ve never tried it. I’ll have to soon.

I have one of these stores within walking distance of my house. When they have apple juice on sale for $1 I stock up! It’s nice that they take coupons as well and have a baby discount program!

My favorite grocery store is my local store Vg’s. The double $1 coupons to $2. So I loooove them!

My favorite grocery store is Jewel, but my daughter has a Save-a-lot just down the street from her so I am sure we could put the gift card to good use.

My favorite grocery store to shop at is Jewel; I love being able to stack manufacturer’s coupons with Avenu discounts. I used to say that Target was my favorite, but since they took away the ability to print from Target coupon generator, I’m a little less excited about shopping there.

When i lived in OH, Save A Lot was my fav by far… now i’m not too close to one, but my Bro and SIL are!!!

Sorry, I don’t mean to enter twice, just accidentally submitted early.

Anyway, yes, we have one right down the street. I think my favorite grocery store is Whole Foods — shopping there just feels good to me, and everything is so delicious. If I can save money on everyday needs at places like Jewel, Target, CVS, etc., it means I can actually afford a treat at WF :)

Thanks! My favorite store is Fareway. There is a Save a Lot in the metro area here. Since we live about 25 miles from the metro area, I don’t make the trip everytime I get grocheries. I actually like my local, nearby store Mercer Market. It’s only 3 miles!

My favorite store is Trader Joe’s. They have more “quality” food choices including organics with reasonable prices. Plus, they offer a good selection including imports.

    SuperWalmart.

I have a Save-A-Lot less than 1.5 miles from my house. I shop there often for fruit and veggies. They always have great deals!

  20. Yvonneon 08 Dec 2009 at 10:58 pm

They just opened a Save A Lot within a close distance of my house but I haven’t checked them out yet.

My favorite store is Jewel with all the catalinas ~ with 2 little guys in tow, it is hard to make quick trips to a fruit market, a meat market, drug store, etc. so I buy almost all sale items at Jewel and the rest at Sam’s Club.

  22. tamaraon 09 Dec 2009 at 11:20 am

My daughter has save a lot in her town, she loves it and the prices. I like to shop Jewel for their sales and catalina deals.

Woodman’s….maybe because it’s employee owned, they just seem friendlier! The customer service there is better overall.

  24. Katieon 09 Dec 2009 at 8:26 pm

I like to shop Jewel. This site has helped me to look outside of the box. I now feel like I can shop and not feel guilty. Sad right?

  25. Jamieon 13 Dec 2009 at 3:42 pm

I love to shop at Fred Meyer because they have a health food section with our favorite kind of yogurt and also a bulk food section.

Hi! Oh, I am a HUGE fan of Sav -a- lot! We have one very close to our home, and utilize it as often as we can for great savings :) I would have to say my over all fave store would be Wal Mart Super Center…..simply because, if I am in a hurry (and who isn’t with a 2 year old in toe!) I can get everything I need in one smart stop! Merry Christmas everyone!
