Walgreens, 11/22/09 — and not much Jewel

Published by rachel at 2:12 pm under jewel, shopping trips, walgreens

So this morning I ran by Walgreens and Jewel. At Jewel I just used up $45 in Catalinas that were expiring Tuesday, and burned them on things like turkey, diet Coke, produce, coffee. I’ll spare you the details since it wasn’t outstanding, but ended up paying $7.38 OOP, using up $45 in Catalinas, and getting back $4.00 for buying 8 Maxwell House coffees. And, a little note to Jewel: It would be really nice if you would stock turkeys somewhere in between 10 and 21lbs! I wanted a 16-17lb turkey and ended up with one close to 21lbs, because that’s what they had.

At Walgreens I did this:

Walgreens 11/22/09 -- $1.53 oop

$1.53 OOP — bubble mailers not pictured

Walgreens napkins, $1.50.
2 packs Vanity Fair plates, BOGO at $3.79. Used BOGO from October AY = FREE. (Sorry for spoiling the surprise earlier…) ;)
2 Scotch bubble mailers, $1.00 with in-ad coupon.
2 Reynold’s 20 ft. foil, $1.98 with in-ad coupon. Used two $1.00/1 from a Reynold’s wrap coupon booklet found at Jewel.
2 Triaminic thin strips, $10.00. Used two $1.50/1 printables and $2.00/each from the October Healthy Savings booklet.
2 boxes Wheat Thins, $4.00. Used $1.00/2 from $55 savings booklet. Used $1.00/2 from Diabetes & You booklet.
1 Ritz, $2.00. Used $1.00/1 from 11/8 SS.
2 Triscuit, $4.00. Used two $1.00/1 from 11/8 SS. Used Used $1.00/2 from Diabetes & You booklet.
3 cans Hormel chili, $2.97. Used $2.00/3 from 10/18 SS.

Paid with $10.00 RR (from Bayer meters) and $1.53 in cash. Got back $8.00 RR ($5.00 for Triaminic and $3.00 for crackers). Net cost: $3.53. Digging out more cracker coupons today to get those again tomorrow and send in for the $10.00 Jingle in Your Holidays rebate — unfortunately I didn’t print the Ritz one before it disappeared. Oh well. Was going to buy Kleenex because Norma so nicely sent me a November Healthy Savings booklet (thanks, Norma!), but it is buried somewhere in my piles of coupons and mail and papers. Tonight’s project: organization!

I don’t know if the coupon in the HS book will work or not since it specifies a particular kind of Kleenex. However, Kmart has a 0.75 MQ making it 0.14/box that worked at my Wags. Here’s the site: http://print.coupons.com/couponweb/Offers.aspx?pid=14544&nid=10&zid=jj40

I’m glad when I can ‘give’ back. I appreciate all the help I’ve gotten learning how to use coupons!
