This week, a SmartSource, a P&G, and two Red Plum. See the full list of what’s supposed to be included over at Coupons, Deals and More.
- As always, use this as a general guide, knowing that coupons and values can vary regionally. This means that sometimes we won’t get one or more of the coupons listed, or that one area will get one $ amount on their coupons, we will get another.
In Chicagoland, the Chicago Tribune generally has the most coupons in it — even if the Sun Times or the DuPage Herald or the other smaller papers have the same inserts, they’re often thinner. (On rare occasions, the Sun-Times will contain a coupon not found in the Trib, but it’s rare enough that it’s worth remarking on.)
What looks especially good to me?
- Blue Diamond Almonds (6oz+) $1 expires 4/30/12. If it’s $1.00/1, neato. Even if it’s $1.00/2, that’s better than what we’ve been seeing lately.
- Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt Singles $1/10 or 4pk $1/2 expires 3/31/12. Haven’t seen one of these in ages. Wait for a good Ultra sale.
- Old El Paso (excludes refrigerated, frozen or soup) 50¢/1 or $1/2 expires 3/14/12. Last time we didn’t get this in Chicagoland. Hopefully this time we will — use on the seasoning packets, chiles, etc. for a good deal. The taco shells go $.99 at Walgreens, too.
- Planters Peanuts $1.50/2 expires 4/30/12. Again, we haven’t seen Planters coupons in ages. They’re $2.99 on the buy 10 save $5 at Jewel, but I’d wait for a better deal someplace like CVS.
- Speed Stick or Lady Speed Stick B1G1 (value to $3.99, excludes trial) expires 2/15/12. Remember when Jewel had the BOGO sale to match up last time?
- Vlasic Pickles 75¢ or $1 expires 3/31/12. Select varieties $1.69 on the Jewel buy 10 save $5 sale.
- Hellmann’s (16.5oz+) 40¢/1 or $1/2 expires 2/26/12. CVS deal coming up Sunday.
- Wish-Bone Dressing (excludes trial) 50¢/1 or $1/2 expires 2/26/12. We’ll probably get $.50/1 here. Use with the Jewel doubler coupons to get free Wish-bone on the buy 10 save $5 sale starting Sunday, if your store doesn’t freak out it’s a penny over.
- Emerald Nuts (9oz+) $1.50/2 expires 3/11/12. Walgreens deal coming up.
- Nasoya Products $1.25/2 expires 4/30/12. Stack with the Whole Foods store coupon.
- Stouffer’s Multi-serve Entree (28-96oz) $2 expires 4/30/12. Maybe Dominick’s will do another $5 Friday sale.
So how many?
I’m glad to see actual food coupons this time, and four inserts is great. I’m probably going to do four papers, how about you?
Getting your paper(s)
Reminder: The Dollar Tree, Deals, and Menards in Illinois (and apparently, from your comments, some but not all stores in Kenosha/NW Indiana) carry the Sunday Chicago Tribune for $1.00, and you can pick up the early Sunday edition by mid-morning Saturday. Many stores are now limiting Sunday paper purchases to three per person!
Try code x618 on the Tribune site for a Wed, Fri, Sun subscription at $1.00/week, x626 or X995 for Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sun at $1.00/week, or code X277 or X264 or X843 for $.50/week Sunday only.
Not getting inserts in your paper?
The Tribune is apparently no longer including inserts the further you get from the city — and some people in Chicago and the southern burbs are also missing one or both inserts in both delivered and purchased papers. This decision is made by the inserts — they’ll decide not to distribute in certain ZIP codes, or only to distribute a certain number in given areas so not all papers have them.
Here are a couple of places you can purchase clipped coupons and/or whole inserts, if the Trib isn’t working for you:
- Coupons & Things by Dede. Dede also has a loyalty program where you earn points for each order, and then can redeem those points towards $ off later orders. She ships fast.
- eBay. If you go through eBay, make sure your seller has good feedback!
These are also good places to try if you want multiples of a single coupon, as it can be more cost effective than buying multiple papers.

I think there’s supposed to be a $3 Iams dog food coupon, too. It’s probably another one of those stand-alone pages, but I may be wrong. If we get it, it will be more free dog food at Target! (They carry small bags for $3)
The Iams coupon is in the P&G and we definitely got it
.
Rachel…word on the street is that speed stick and lady speed stick are 1.99 at cvs this week and also part of the buy $12 and get $6 dollars of ECB…with the BOGO coupon…hmmm…how would that work??? But sounds like a promising deal!
(Also heard of a rebate maybe for those products??)
Brad the stay at home Dad
So theoretically…if you buy 8 speed sticks at 1.99 it is 15.92. Get 6 in ECB bringing it down to 9.92. Then using 4 BOGO coupons from this Sunday, 1.99 x 4 = 7.92 bring the total down to 2.16 for 8 sticks of deodorant! or basically 27 cents each…darn good
Whatcha think??
If the 5 dollar rebate form is true also, then this is a money maker for some good deodorant
Brad the stay at home dad
CVS will round up (2% seems to be the consensus), so you only need to buy 6 to get the ECB = free plus possible rebate
!
Trish…yes I forgot about that…plus I get 4 papers…so i figured…deodorant for the year for the family
If I got word on that rebate I will let Rachel or you guys know immediately
Brad the stay at home dad
Rebate?
The rebate that I got wind of is “Mail in rebate form in 1/29 smart source is $5 Rebate by mail when you buy $10 worth of Colgate or Palmolive products…” I don’t know if it includes the speed stick but it is the CVS ad as the same reward deal? I need to see insert to figure that part out

Love the Dannon coupons!!
Come on, where’s the annual $1 off Quaker Oatmeal Squares coupon. There was one the past two years in January. I want them but won’t pay the high price.
Yeah, Quaker has really pulled back. Where are our oatmeal coupons, while you’re at it
Anyone know if either of this week’s redplums will contain the Marcal coupon? There hasn’t been one out in awhile?
