This week, a SmartSource and a Red Plum. See the full list of what’s supposed to be included over at Coupons, Deals and More.
- As always, use this as a general guide, knowing that coupons and values can vary regionally. This means that sometimes we won’t get one or more of the coupons listed, or that one area will get one $ amount on their coupons, we will get another.
In Chicagoland, the Chicago Tribune generally has the most coupons in it — even if the Sun Times or the DuPage Herald or the other smaller papers have the same inserts, they’re often thinner. (On rare occasions, the Sun-Times will contain a coupon not found in the Trib, but it’s rare enough that it’s worth remarking on.)
What looks especially good to me?
- A1 Steak Sauce (10oz+) $1 expires 2/19/12.
- Frank’s Red Hot Sauce 35¢/1 or 75¢/1 or $1/2 expires 3/31/12. Cross your fingers for $.75, cause the little bottles are $1.00 at Dollar General.
- Hunt’s Canned Tomatoes (11oz+) 45¢/3 or $1/4 expires 3/4/12. On the Jewel buy 10 save $5 sale this week they are $.75 each.
- Kraft Dressing (14 or 16oz) 75¢/2 or $1/2 expires 2/19/12.
- Mt. Olive Pickles, Peppers or Relish $1 expires 4/8/12. The relish goes on sale for $1.00 or less pretty regularly at places like Ultra.
- South Beach Diet Bars Box $1 expires 3/31/12. If you get your early edition paper on Saturday. And if your Walgreens has any left. They’re $5.99 with $5.99 RR back through Sat.
- $3.00/2 Triaminic, which are 2/$10.0 with $5 RR at Walgreens starting Sunday.
So how many?
Not terrible… at least there are some food coupons this week. But nothing’s really jumping out at me, either. Two for me. Maybe four, especially if you’re starting out and building a stockpile.
Getting your paper(s)
Reminder: The Dollar Tree, Deals, and Menards in Illinois (and apparently, from your comments, some but not all stores in Kenosha/NW Indiana) carry the Sunday Chicago Tribune for $1.00, and you can pick up the early Sunday edition by mid-morning Saturday. Many stores are now limiting Sunday paper purchases to three per person!
Try code x618 on the Tribune site for a Wed, Fri, Sun subscription at $1.00/week, x626 or X995 for Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sun at $1.00/week, or code X277 or X264 or X843 for $.50/week Sunday only.
Not getting inserts in your paper?
The Tribune is apparently no longer including inserts the further you get from the city — and some people in Chicago and the southern burbs are also missing one or both inserts in both delivered and purchased papers. This decision is made by the inserts — they’ll decide not to distribute in certain ZIP codes, or only to distribute a certain number in given areas so not all papers have them.
Here are a couple of places you can purchase clipped coupons and/or whole inserts, if the Trib isn’t working for you:
- Coupons & Things by Dede. Dede also has a loyalty program where you earn points for each order, and then can redeem those points towards $ off later orders. She ships fast.
- eBay. If you go through eBay, make sure your seller has good feedback!
These are also good places to try if you want multiples of a single coupon, as it can be more cost effective than buying multiple papers.

Lots of L’oreal coupons that will pair up nicely with the Cat at Jewel.
Well, yeah, that’s true
. But they’re the same as the L’Oreal coupons we always get, at least on my first glance, so it didn’t jump out — if you need more, definitely!
Oh, different things jump out for different people. I never care about the juice or energy bar coupons, because we don’t use those, but I know a lot of people do. (That’s why they make them! LOL)
Went to Walmart yesterday and used those 1.50 printables from the Rachel Ray website for Wholly Gaucamole. They had these snack size ones for 2.28 a pkg(so .78 each!), 3 snack packs in it. Really handy for lunches and really great price! The good thing is it actually keeps your portion correct, so you don’t just keep dipping until the whole container is gone, LOL
