Things to know at Jewel
Just a few…
- Check your Avenu before you go. Avenu e-coupons load onto your card when you view the page, and come off automatically at the register when you buy qualifying items. If your Avenu item is part of a Catalina deal, the pre-e-coupon price counts towards the Catalina.
- Also load SavingStar “electronic coupons,” which rebate back into your SavingStar account rather than coming off at the register.
- You’ll also want to read this on the latest Jewel Catalinas change, if you’ve been doing them there for a while.
- Here’s the official Jewel-Osco coupon policy from September 2011.

I just got back from Jewel (95th & Roberts this time) and one of the employees was putting 30% off stickers on ALL the L’Oreal cosmetics. Most other cosmetics are 25% off. PLUS, it’s time to clear the way for the Spring color lines, so many of the Fall/Winter colors are on clearance, 50% off (or more). I got 3 WetNWild nail polishes for 19 cents each, 2 Revlon nail polish for $1.39 each (after $1 coupons – not sure where I got those), and 2 Covergirl lip glosses for $1.74 each (again, after $1 coupons from the 01-01 PG).
Will the “$1 off on any one package of Land O Lakes Butter” coupon work on the $1.25 deal? The picture on the coupon shows stick packages, but wondering if the tub of butter would be considered a package. I’d love some $.25 butter
No. The one on sale is margarine, not butter.
Ahhh… Thank you
Thanks, Rachel, for unknowingly inspiring me to try Smart Balance milks! I’ve seen you, more than a few times, mention great deals on their milk, and so I decided to try it. Love it! Also, my mom went through a great health scare recently, and I’ve been trying to help her adapt to a more heart healthy lifestyle. So easy with this milk!
Thank YOU!
Oh, when I went into Jewel today to grab a few more cartons on sale…there was a shelf tag that said the price 2/$6 was good until 2/12. Don’t know if these things can go store by store…but I’ll be checking back to grab some more!
I noticed that Life cereal at Target is only sold in 18 oz and 13 oz boxes now, when I used to buy 21 oz, or 18 oz in a pinch. (And they have new flavors, Apple Cinnamon and Strawberry, that are only 7 oz.!) The Life cereal in the Jewel ad says “12.5 – 16 oz.” Just a heads up if you haven’t noticed the size change.
The Crown Point Jewel wouldn’t allow me to use the 5/1 Papa Charlie’s coupon. The policy reads they will not accept internet coupons over $5. I called corporate to clarify…they should have accepted it, oh well. Got it at Stracks, no problem.
Yeah, they get mixed up on that sometimes. Their policy is not to take printables OVER $5, but $5 and under is OK.
I only see .40 off in the 1/8 SS for the Land O Lakes. IS the .50 off only for certain areas??
It’s possible. I go off a database and sometimes they have different coupons.
OK, thanks for responding
I got an email with a store coupon for $1.50/sauce wyb pasta. I am trying to figure out if there is a worthy deal in it. One option is Prego and EE pasta – $1 for one of each, $2 for one sauce and 4 pasta with in-ad pasta coupon, or $4 for 3 sauces and 4 pastas with the $1/3. I don’t like Prego so I am hoping for some surprise sauce deal, lol.
I got this email, too. Have you printed the coupon? It doesn’t even have a jewel logo on it?? Just says “store coupon” and expires 1/27/2012. Is this what yours looks like, too?
If you’re into the organic, there were peelies on a lot of the muir glen pasta sauces at Ogden and jefferson in naperville $1/2. They were $3.50 each which is just reasonable, but then you’d get 2 for$4.50. Not an amazing deal but a good price for the muir glen organic.
Yeah, that is what mine looks like too. It does say Supervalu in the fine print, but that’s all. I think most of the store email coupons look weird like that. One per transaction as usual.
