What to know at Walgreens
If you’re newer at this, here’s what you need to know at Walgreens:
- Register Rewards (RR) do not roll — meaning, you can’t use the RR you get from one item to buy another of that item (or even another item from the same manufacturer, which will be listed on the RR) and get another RR for that item. That is why you see people rolling back and forth between different deals each week.
- RR are manufacturer coupons. At Walgreens, the number of manufacturer coupons you use in one transaction, including RR, has at a minimum to be less than or equal to the number of items in your order — and each manufacturer coupon needs its own item to “attach” to. A multi-item coupon (like $1.00/2) attaches to both items, so counts as a coupon for both. This is why you’ll see lists of low-priced “filler” items in Walgreens roundups — sometimes you have to throw something small into your order and not use a mfr. coupon on it, so that you can use a RR. You can use as many STORE coupons as you want, including the in-ad coupons; this only applies to manufacturer coupons.
- Only one RR will print per offer per transaction. So, for example — if the offer is that you get one $5.00 RR for buying a certain razor for $7.99, you can’t buy two of those razors for $15.98 and get back $10.00 RR. If you want to get two, you’d have to split them up into separate transactions.
- Here’s a link to the official Walgreens coupon policy. Given the inconsistencies between Walgreens, you may wish to print this out and keep it with you!
- If you can’t find the monthly coupon booklets in your store, you can now print their coupons online. (If you have them in your store, save your ink!)
- You can use manufacturer coupons with both the monthly booklet coupons and the in-ad coupons. Always hand your manufacturer coupons over first.
And for those of us in the Chicago area, the big bonus thing to remember is that:
- JEWEL TAKES REGISTER REWARDS, even if they have the “redeem only at Walgreens” wording. Register Rewards are manufacturer coupons, they scan at other stores just fine, and can be redeemed at other stores that will take them.

There’s also a brainstrong cpns in vitamin booklets that can make this a MM or least free.
The Sunsweet coupon is .55 now.
Any good matchups for the Advil RR on page 13?
Any idea which GM cereals are included in the RR deal? Any chex or Cheerios?
The ad pictures Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but check for more tags in store.
The $3 off 1 Triaminic doesn’t scan — I believe it said 1 coupon per transaction. My cashier forced it through and I still received the RR. There was also a $1 coupon in the Walgreens January coupon book, but that is only for the double pack (which was on clearance for $7.79 at my store), but I’m not sure if those produce a RR.
Mine scanned — if they have the new scanners they have to cover up the other barcode
just went to walgreens to pick up some brain strong. thought i would get a good deal. the prenatals i wanted were b1g1 at 19.99 each. First off the vitamin and supplement booklet were only for the adult ones $5 off. The one in the january coupon booklet was $5 off one. So i went up with my 2 prenatals boxes and my 1 coupon from the january booklet thinking that $5 would come off each…. nope! just $5 off one. Went back to the sign and the fine print on the little pricetag sign say $5 off 1 with coupon in jan booklet. Yikes! $5 off…. not good enough deal for me. But in that section i did see finest naturals DHA supplement on clearance for 2.79! originally $10.99 each! so i snatched those up! but be warned on the brain strong! Rachel, is this a new thing that walgreens is going to do this year? store coupons only good on one item? if so that stinks!
Anyone happen to have checked out the Enfamil formula deal? My ad had the Enfagrow listed as 2/$34 and the regular Enfamil formula at 2/$46…. ouch!
OUCH, you’re right. I just copied and pasted from the post I did from the preview. Sigh. There’s a $5 Enfagrow coupon but it’s nowhere near as good a deal on the Enfamil.
I did the brainstrong deal today and I found clearance toddlers vitamins for $6.89. They did not come up as bogo free so the cashier made the second one for a penny. So 2 at $6.89 and 2 at $0.01 which came out to $13.80. I was able to use 4 $3 cpns from the vitamin books. So then my total was down to $1.80. Since I had 4 brainstrong I was hoping for the monthly book to take off $20 but it took off $10.02. I think the register will only take off if the item is more than the cpn and since my bogo ones were rung up as $0.01 the max it would take off is the $0.01. But I still got $8 overage. So I wonder if Jennyh had her bogo come up as $0.00.
I noticed that there are 3 different versions of the vitamin booklet. The one that has the $3 off toddler kid and prenatal has a younger man and woman looking at a map and it says over $75 off in savings.
