What to know at CVS
If you’re new to CVS, ECB stands for “Extra (Care) Bucks.” Here’s what to remember:
- Unlike Walgreens RR, ECB are store coupons and can only be used at CVS. They are also tied to your particular CVS card, so if you get an ECB or store coupon that prints out at the price scanner or register, it will only work for your card.
- Always scan your card at their in-store price scanner, because bonus coupons print out there when you do so. Keep scanning until it says no coupons available, because sometimes it prints more than one set.
- Sign up for their ExtraCare emails with your card number and you’ll get a bonus $4.00/$20.00 printable coupon, plus random emailed coupons throughout the year. The $4.00/$20.00 and other $/$$ coupons can be used before any other coupons.
- Buy yourself a green bag tag for $.99. Attach it to your reusable bag. Every fourth shopping trip that they scan your tag, you get a bonus $1.00 ECB. (Note: you’ll only get the credit for one trip per card per day.)
- ECB always roll, meaning you can use them on any other ECB-generating item and they’ll still generate new ECB.
- Limits listed in the ad are per card.
- View and print the CVS coupon policy here.

thanks for posting the deals. there is no difference in coupon inserts if you buy saturday paper vs sunday paper??
No — I always buy the saturday paper
I’m sorry — let me clarify. The EARLY EDITION OF THE SUNDAY PAPER that comes out Saturday, NOT the saturday paper.
Is the “Spend $30, get $10 back” deal BEFORE coupons?
Should be — this is a new deal, but ECB deals work that way, all the buy $30 get $10 gift card deals this summer worked that way, etc.
Did you get the B1G1F Slim Fast 4-pk coupon in one of your SS inserts? I got one in my WSJ SS insert today, so I don’t know if it is in our Tribune edition or not. If it is, that makes the weight loss products/scale a pretty good deal if you do all/mostly slim fast, no?
On the Planters Nutrition, if you’ve been saving a couple of the $1 off coupons from the magic coupon machine in the store, then that would make them 2/$3 with the $1 off manufacturer’s coupons and ECB.
I can’t get the Skinny Cow BOGO coupon to print. Anyone else having this problem?
I used 2 of the $2 off on l’oreal that was in the jewel book before xmas (expires 1/7) – said redeem at jewel, but was a man Q – no beeping at cvs
Paired great with the $5 ecb deal. Can’t wait to try my cheap new eyeshadows!
So I have been using wet paper towels cuz no deal on wipes but…wipes and diapers are included in the CVS deal so this is what I did:
I bought 3 cvs refill packs of 320 wipes 9.99 each = 29.97
Bought CBS sugar free gummy bears .99
Used 25% off because the cvs items are not on sale
That took off 7.50
Then I had $11 in ecbs and one $10 Amex card from a previous cvs deal
Paid 3.60 nf got back a $10 gift card.
Now I know that you May not have the same qs but my point to share was to say this; look through your stash, know your store, if they take exp store qs, and work in things like $4/$20 % qs anything to get your oop down and this could be a nice gc deal.
Just got back from CVS, and the magic coupon machine gave me a $5.00 off coupon for Abreva so that sweetend the deal! whoo hoo!
I just have to share with “someone” who will appreciate this:
Went to CVS last night to finish out my $10ECB on $30 L’oreal with 3 more pkgs of towelettes. No prob there. they had them, I got my $10 ECB.
Now I was going to roll that into one more $10 GC buying Pantene, Herbal Essences, and maybe CoverGirl or (more) Dawn… had all my coupons in the envelope and a plan in my head. Left 2 sons in car with Nintendo DS’s and went in with a plan.
Did some calculating on my phone as I went along & had like $31 to cover the GC.
Checked out and my total was only $25 and a Herb Ess. coupon was beeping! Turns out the Herb Essence “curly” shampoo & conditioner I had was ringing up for $.99… but still counting towards the $30. I was using $1 MQ’s on these, so they turned out to be FREE! The beep was b/c cashier had to lower the last $1 MQ to $.96 — whew!
Got a little irritated when while I was trying to figure out what happened, the cashier was glaring at me with her hand out waiting for payment, so I just paid and left. Figured it all out @ home.
Today I am going back for 4-5 more Free shampoos that should fill out my $30 for the GC promotion. YEAH ME!! (hopefully a new cashier this morning!) LOL!
